It seems the biggest talking point about this game is whether the Bulldogs will have more supporters at No-Name stadium than the Ginats. It seems the last time the two played a final in Sydney they easily out numbered them.

Tells you everything you need to know about the extent of the Ginats following in good 'ol Sydney town.

Of course there are away supporters . But only going by the tv seems to be as much support for the giants and plenty of giant fans there.

It’s a growing supporter base. No one is saying they are dominating but they are developing a base. A small base but a growing one. This can only be good for the Giants and good for afl, and good for Australian rules football in the area.

AFL finals: GWS dirty tactics, tiny crowd and bizarre stadium PA chants

There were plenty of empty seats in the stadium — the top tier of the Suttor Stand empty — with estimates the crowd was “50-50”, even though the Doggies fans had to travel to Western Sydney — and some even missed their flights.

That orange you see in the crowd majority aren’t gws supporters btw lol. Those are empty orange seats #AFLGiantsDogs

Leon Cameron should complain to the AFL about his home final sounding like an away game. It’s not fair they are outnumbered like that. #AFLGiantsDogs

Kitch
@kitchtrips
When the camera pans around Giants Stadium to show far more Bulldogs fans than Giants fans (especially when you consider the travel delays due to gale-force winds) is that not the most damning indictment of the Giants franchise that there is? #AFLGiantsDogs

You been researching again lol. The crowd was pretty good I thought. A good swag of bulldogs supporters but also a decent amount of GWS supporters it seemed. Not sure why anyone would think that GWS would get a sell out or are highly popular or supported. Most going to a game would be trying it out, maybe a 3 game membership if gws are lucky. That so many GWS fans turned up and paid finals price tickets was a win I think. Long way to go though... a long long long way to go. But it’s a great start and they are growing. The real test, and the mark of the core of success, will be those supporters sticking through thick or thin. Like the Swans this year not doing so well but still getting good crowds. The real market for afl penetration into Sydney will be tv ratings, and they are not even close to anything substantial there. But a nice niche has been carved indeed.

like most nrlol games :wave:
even several finals games :wave:

the irony in your jealously and bitterness! the giants are start up teams from nothing based in nrlol heartland, scoring similar crowd numbers to teams who have been based there for 60 plus years :\:
