The college football system is quite phenomenal considering it is meant to be an amateur sport.

They currently hold the top 10 average attendance for football games.

Team————-League———-Country———-Code————Year——-HOME GAMES——-Average
Michigan——-Big 10————- USA————College 1A—-17/18—————7———————110,737
Penn St,———Big 10—————USA———College 1A——-17/18—————7———————105,485
Ohio St,———-Big 10————-USA———-College 1A——-17/18————-7———————101,941
Alabama———SEC——————-USA———College 1A——-17/18—————7——————-101,562
LSU——————SEC——————-USA———College 1A——-17/18—————7——————-100,000

Several more college teams and then

Dallas—————NFL————-USA———-Gridiron————17/18——8———-91,619

Their stadium capacities are incredible and these are schools. The current average price per ticket is $380 for the top leagues and rising.

The high capacity college stadiums:

Michigan Stadium 107,671

Beaver Pennsylvania Stadium 106,572

Kyle Field Texas 102,733

Neyland Stadium Tennessee 102,455

Tiger Stadium Louisiana 102,321

Ohio Stadium 102,082

Bryant–Denny Stadium Alabama 101,821

Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial 100,819
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

From memory they never show the games live against the gate and there is only a hand full of games every season starving the fans of games!
The nfl operate the same as well

The Major League Baseball preforms very nicely as well when considering the amount of games that are played each season

http://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance

Somewhere in the mid 40s each H&A season and played any day of the week through out the year

We met a couple from Alabama in Tahiti and they were taking to another couple discussing college football (some rivalary apparently all in good fun) and they told me how everyone gets behind the college football. I believe they said they didn’t have a national local team hence why college football so popular... but not sure.

Major League Baseball in 2018 had a total attendance of 69,625,240
Which is a lot, however they also have 30 teams that play a total of 2,430 games. The average attendance was 28,830.

I have attended a couple of baseball games including one that some media said was the best of the decade. Ortiz decided he would hit a few homers and he did.
However I thought the crowd was under 15000 by a fair bit, and the fans only seem to look at the game when the ball was hit and that damn organ, well I know what they can do with that and sweet Caroline, I used to like that song.
My Australian companions loved it, I thought it was the greatest waste of 7 years I’d ever experienced. I won’t get that time back.

Fenway Park
20 September 4, 2013
attendance 33,720
Detroit Tigers (81-59) 4, Boston Red Sox (84-57)

Hard to tell as they were very scattered out!

But as we have been told the weather is really really really bad in Sydney atm and they get twice the annual rain fall as Melbourne so there is a justifications for the lower crowd

12269k was the final number! So hats off to the people that braved the weather!
7k more than the St George drag queens vs Minnowbourne Storm game

And those nrlol fans who are going to cry about rubbery figures and have zero proof! Go back and eat those lemons in that meltdown mode that you’ll be in!

As looney Leroy has stated he is sick of people questioning crowd averages and will ban any one who claims this with out proof! Roughly along those lines!

Yeah. Looked pretty empty. The ground is similar to gold coasts and I know when it rains most are naturally up on standing too under the stands ... but yes, 12000 ??? The sun’s v Richmond was apparently around the 14000 or 15009 and I was there and it was busy as and it was raining and cold and people back in standing room... but it appeared busy ... so was surprised wasn’t reported about 16000 .... minimum ... so to see that 12000 at gws I am left a little skeptacle must admit.

Rnd 16
NRL Split Round 4 games only

Afl normal 9 games

NRL total 43,200
NRL average 10,800

AFL total 363,684
AFL average 40,409

5 individual AFL games attendance exceeded the total NRL attendance

The AFL average attendance came close to 4 times that of the NRL average.

However the same good be said of the lowest attended afl games.

The home game attendance at Gold Coast was higher than any NRL game of the round.
