did it take a hit because of the cricket ?

Seems like it, 450k is a good number. I'd say a lot of casual fans chose the cricket. But as I've stated before FTA ratings are dropping everywhere. Last years AFL & NRL GF's both had the lowest ratings for a decade.

All in all the numbers for the series were disappointing though. Albeit RL now has the top 3 programs of the year. I'm not sure if any blockbuster shows are scheduled for the rest of the year, if not I can only see the 2 GF's topping the SOO games.

It seems strange that the decider would be the lowest of the 3 though. Assuming the viewership would've been down interstate.

Simple, try put teams in Adelaide and Perth again. Watch those crowds after about 10 games.

Funny how crowds are suddenly relevant when rugby in Sydney gets one that isn't embarrassing.

A one off crowd in Perth, nothing in Adelaide and the Melbourne figure from how long ago?

International? Absolutely.

National? Not in the slightest.

judging by those figures,

i would say Rugby league overall will win total figures.

however

NRL SEASON v AFL SEASON will be a tight finish

AFL 8 mill in front >

NRL 1 extra round in play
and 5 LIVE Saturday Games at end of H&A Season
making it 4 live FTA games per week.

QLD teams playing poorly who are sitting 13,14,15th Quite remarkably are hurting QLD figures.

Shall be interesting finish..

Very strange that a decider was the lowest figure of the series,
i dont recall over the past 15 years, a Decider being the lowest figure.

NRL have an extra round, and 5 live saturday games yes, but AFL finals smashed NRL finals in ratings last year. And the average AFL round already rates an average of half a million or more than an average NRL round.
which is true..

I looked at the AFL do not have anymore Thursday Games Scheduled
NRL will get back those numbers lost to AFL with the introduction of Saturday Night FTA footy

Yes i took into calculation AFL seem to be owning the NRL in finals of late>>
though NRL final series last year, was quite crap bar a few games, i think we may see a rise.
than again No QLD teams which may be a Hit..

What were the total figures for finals for each code.

Teams from all states currently taking 5 spots in the top 8, the Vic teams being the 2 behemoths and Geelong.

Would that make for big ratings come finals series Wookie?

I don't think the good ol' girl RL has it in her.
A 3mil lead now.
And with the trends as they are....
7 more rounds should add another ~3mil.
Then finals a probable extra ~3mil

Do you think the NRL extra round and 5 extra FTA games has ~9mil in them?

Please point out the fantasy bit.

Season average per round so far.
AFL - 4.44mil
NRL - 3.64mil

3mil was being conservative.
If this rate continues it will be closer to 5.25mil.

That real enough for ya Gollum....? :(/
