You skirt the fact continually when a Saturday or PTV gamer is shown without any overlap it still get ratings 70+ thousand less than ours. You live in a fantasy world, you expect your Saturday/Sunday games to rate as well as Friday nights. Atmosphere is the only thing that your game has going for it, once you take that away your game is as exciting as watching paint dry - why do you think no one else wants to have anything to do with it! Even Victorian attitudes are much the same, after Friday night the weeks all but over.

Furthermore the NRL has two extra rounds! and 1.5 less matches per round and during the SOO period sometimes just 2. Victoria never has less then 3 , Often 4 and, on occasionally 5.

Your extra games are'nt usually of a night time. though didn't you play a game on Sunday night this year? , Monday night?, I know you had a game on Tuesday night as well as quite a few Thursday nights. And when you play them Saturday night you spit two games to in crease your ratings..but but but
So youre saying no other afl games rate well other than Friday? You sure about that? I seem to remember the AFL finals annihilating the nrl on every day they were played.

And no i didnt skirt over the afls ptv games on saturday, i said they are all simulcast with foxt which lowers the ptv ratings. Your saturday games are exclusive to fox which increases their ratings

It's all about that ..... Atmosphere ............... and the scary part, for you, is that your starting to realise it yourself ......................A turd is more appetising than your game.

And as if said, and as you have been told a million times the NRL rating average either way are about the same. So its just another on of your pathetic, feeble excuses.

Youre not even worth arguing with because you ignore facts. It is a well known fact that secondary digital channels rate less whether you think it makes sense or not. It's one of the reasons the nrl show finals on ch9 not gem. Its the reason the networks show their premiere programs on the main channel.

Here's an example https://mumbrella.com.au/seven-wins-201 ... t-25-54-de

Ch7 had 20% viewership where as 7 mate only had 4%. In fact all 7's secondary channels added together had 10%

Until you are prepared to at least accept obvious facts this discussion will go no where

Viewers are no 1
How many ad breaks you can fit in a telecast is prob no 2
The more breaks the more $$$ a tv station makes to recoup their outlay .

& even though there's only about 5k+ ratings boxes in Aust it's seen as a fairly reliable sample size
Reliable enough( with whatever other data they can get) to outlay billions of $$$$

Well that is till the AFLOL get beat ..then suddenly it's unreliable .

The AFL gets more $$$ for less viewers and more ads.
Where as the NRL gets less $$$ for more viewers and less ads.
It seems logical that ads are the primary factor, not viewers.

it's more complicated than that. Each market has a different advertising value (Sydney being far higher than elsewhere). Each time slot has a different advertising value. Fox care less about ratings and more about subscriptions. Networks can pay overs for sport because viewers will stay on and watch subsequent programs, so the value is more than the ratings of game alone.

Despite AFLcrap's simpleton views on everything, the answer is far more complicated

They get watched less because they show programs that are less popular. That has F all to do with what your saying [-(

If there's a program on that you watch they can be accessed just as easily as any other channel.

I've reviewed all fox ratings for this year which shows some pretty startling results. I'll post more in the coming days but here is an example I'd love you guys to explain:

Essendon played against the hawks in round 20 at 1.45pm on a Saturday and got ratings of 239k on fox footy.
They also played the hawks in round 7 at 2pm on Saturday and only got ratings of 125k on Fox3.

How is round 7 nearly 50% less despite being shown at essentially the same time?

Any ideas?

Ch9 basically doubled the ratings of 9GO! for the same show, and both were repeats

It's a fact
