ill find the article
when?
here dopey

this is what he wrote at the time , he brushes over it a bit here
but was on several TV shows at the time as well , & went into more detail about how it would affect the NRL ratings & it would be significant.
He was dead right. 4 Million potential viewers are affected.

The NRL expects Nine's decision to partner with regional affiliate Southern Cross in regional Queensland, southern NSW and Victoria from July 1, to cause a drop off in regional viewership, and therefore have an impact on national viewer numbers in the annual bragging rights contest with the AFL.
Nine has severed its relationship with WIN where there is strong incumbency in NSW, owing to the channel being the initial news broadcaster into the region. This incumbency could see a drop off in southern NSW audience numbers for NRL, as viewers are asked to switch from their traditional channel preference to the weaker Southern Cross. Naturally, more avid NRL fans will switch channels, but fringe viewers may drop off.

The NRL anticipates a similar trend in regional Queensland although more moderate, owing to Queensland's preference for Prime. Northern NSW will remain on WIN, meaning it is unlikely to be affected.
the article says there MAY be a drop in FRINGE regional viewers because they are asked to switch channels from WIN to southern cross.........

1. It doesnt say anything about the ratings being incorrectly counted. The audience is the audience. If regional viewers wont even change channels to watch the NRL then they obviously dont care about RL

2. it says the fringe viewers may drop of. Are you trying to tell me 50% of your regional audience were fringe viewers?

3. Perth and on occasion Adelaide also changed channels from 7 to 7mate for the AFL which has resulted in a drop in viewers. Funny how you ignore this

Bottom line, regional ratings are correctly counted, there's just less people watching the NRL. If they cant figure out how to change the TV station maybe they need a tutorial.

yeah I guess that explains the drop off mirrored in the fucking metro ratings areas too. Dumbass.
my my .. what a potty mouth

there are lots of factors that may .. may .. explain metro
these are so much less at play in the country areas of across the country its not funny , RL is hugely popular , its massive in regional NSW ACT QLD.. therefore .. the above can be the only plausible reason.

you obvisouly cant read. The article claimed the NRL's fringe audience may not change channels from WIN to SC. The ratings are counted correctly and unfortunately some viewers havent bothered to change channels from WIN to SC. AFL is the same in Perth where some viewers didnt change from 7 to 7 mate.

It is what it is. These are the number of viewers

If people aren’t watching they’re not watching. Doesn’t say anything about reach being reduced... just a change of channel. If afl is shown on abc it will result in a reduction of viewers, sans as 7mate... but regardless... the ratings are still the rating reflecting how many watching. It not like the change in channel means more people are watching but just not counted. So your own article shows you’re wrong Terry.

Brisbane with half the population rated 83k for the AFL compared the the storm in Melbourne rating 85k. Yes, the AFL had twice the viewership per population in Brisbane for no QLD side compare to the storm in Melbourne.

The ratings are correct, AFL is more popular than the NRL. The NRL's ratings have dwindled in metros and regionals at similar rates

Can’t understand why a change in (fta) channels would result in a lower audience unless a whole lot of people don’t have access to those channels, which is not my understanding.
Isn’t it just a case of changing the channel...and remotes make that an easy task.
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.

The networks want to show the adds to the most viewers . Not just someone who watched a few minutes .

The NRL have signed a new Billion dollar contract with Fox . Thats the main one. Fox can be very nasty if they don't get there way as the NRL found out previously. C9 seem very keen on Origin. They will soon come around. If they don't there are other options.
