Aboriginal All Stars vs Carlton attracted a huge record sellout crowd of 17000 in 2003, these figures won't be beaten for years.
AFL cannot afford to lose its dominance in NT as is is such fantastic recruiting area of skilful scintillating players have contributed enormously to the game.

Re: Battle of the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
https://www.austadiums.com/sport/comp/nrl/results
Looking at the figures it is apparent that the Titans only draw fair crowd numbers when a successful in form team is in town.
The Sun's can easily outdraw the tiny Titans crowds given a run of good form and a popular opposition club as opponents.

Sevens Friday night football mostly always out rates the NRL broadcast by a healthy margin.
The NRL as always is only runner up !

Re: Battle of the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
Collingwood vs Suns game to be huge.
Sports fans on the Gold Coast are in for a treat.
Look hard enough and you might even find Leeroy, Fred and Truthbomber **** the crowd !
Some local fans will be scratching their head, pondering,
Who are the Titans ?

Re: The state of the vicderpian game in Sydney
Quite a few players from the magnificent premiership years were reasonably popular, names such as Nick Davis, Michael O'Loughlin and Irish import Tadhg Kennelly .

Re: Titans admit defeat in battle with Suns
The Suns turned the corner this year playing a more consistent brand of football winning games and winning fans ( multi generational Queenslanders ).
I will send a white flag to Robina stadium to be raised on their flagpole.

Re: Is GWS a Canberra team or Western Sydney team?
Two points here both big costly mistakes.
First mistake the Giants moniker does not represent any flora, fauna or cultural aspect of Sydney. so potential fans can not identify with and embrace the team, in short the giant name is an unmitigated disaster.
Please learn from the Dolphins, credit ...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings (AFL vs NRL)
Those NRL numbers mean nothing, they are a joke, nobody cares less. The AFL being Australias favourite game and national sport always wins the better broadcast deal, always will.

Re: Fight Club - Football Club Memberships
20000 GC members is a fantastic achievement and shows that when their form is good plenty of Queenslanders sign on for a bit of the action.
Even allowing for the fact that many are not full season memberships, it is still a positive result.

Re: Battle of the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
Respectable attendance figures indeed.
Winning teams draw good crowds and in this match-up it was the Warriors that created the interest
Some might even suggest 20000 fly in fly out kiwis.
Warriors are the form side that spectators came to see.

Re: afls zero round ridiculed by afl greats
I was a bit sceptical of this opening round concept thinking it may fall a bit flat.
However excellent crowds have changed my mind.
Nice to see a large turnout of local GWS fans at homebush.
Gold coast also had a good crowd .
Lions and Swans full house.
Great way to grow the game whilst the ...
