Re: The AFL Puts On A Brave Face!

If there is any less incentive for fumbler to get PTV its because they have greater access to the higher rating FTA. Yet you still come 2nd??? why??? And if your weekly layout of matches is of such great concern then why is it that they don't change it??? Could it be they think there doing better th...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings

Last night's overall TV ratings show the discrepancy of viewing between Sydney and Melbourne that has been evident for many years. The top rating programs were 7 News and 9 News. The numbers for each city were: Melbourne 7 - 369K Sydney 7 - 243k Melbourne 9 - 408k Sydney 9 - 285k Both news programs ...

Re: More international expansion for NRL?

Crazy how much the sport is growing- New York Rugby League team has been launched with exhibition matches planned against NRL teams. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesnalton/2020/03/10/new-york-rugby-league-to-kick-off-in-2021-taking-on-worlds-best-at-red-bull-arena/amp/ https://lastwordonrugby.com/...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings

The anomaly I see with the ratings is the FTA difference between Sydney and Melbourne for every single program. Last night Melbourne out-rated Sydney in every one of the top 20 programs. It was the same for multi channels. And it is the same every night. Melbourne just doesn't out-rate Sydney in NRL...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings

Yes that too, but they had a Grand Final date in mind, and they reduced the length of the game to factor in this, I still think tv viewing figures are up for 2 main reasons. Game has been reduced (which is making the AVG look better) you will see the change next season and Melbourne has been pretty...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings

point 6.) Exactly Leeroy, Fred was waffling on about how good a business man Rupert Murdoch is, yet neglects to tell us why Murdoch chose Rugby League to spearhead his new PTV business. Would seem a strange decision if AFL was a more valuable product. In large part because AFL clubs were fully fran...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings

Wishful thinking Wookie. The ARL was an organisation that Rupert sponsored for years - he hardly hated it! He obviously admired the way it was run and wanted it . And he had a bit more opposition than club colours!, ARL, Packer and Optus all wanted it . And yes, it had taken them Some years to get b...

Re: Toronto Wolfpack

That the CEO wasn’t paid since joining the club clearly indicates they had money issues long before COVID. Their accomodation set up for visiting teams and the debacle with local tv coverage convinced me that they were in trouble long ago. Still the recent news items seem to be positive. The “decisi...

Re: COVID-19 Affects it will have on Australian footy codes

Well in the old days there was no way a forward would be leaving the forward line let alone venturing into the backline. So people used to play to their position... but yeah maybe some mandating wouldn’t hurt.

Re: Toronto Wolfpack

Paris saint germaine 1996-1997 The Wolfpack were gone before Covid, that just put the flowers on their grave, the amount of creditor action from unpaid bills from last season is growing, and even the Wolfpack are saying they were mismanaged and were unsustainable. I had doubts from the beginning And...
