Re: Rugby League crowds around world in 2019

I don’t think anyone thinks Australian Rules Football is big overseas. it's all relative and depends on the criteria used especially here. I think there has been a push by the AFL to try and expand the game. The AFL has invested in N.Z., R.S.A., China and now the P.N.G. To a much lesser degree the ...

Re: How does it feel knowing Australians embraced Rugby League yet English rejected AFL?

When there was only one rugby the rugby establishment banned the colonial game where they could because they FEARED the colonial game. RU clubs like the famous Waratah RFC were flipping over to Aussie Rules. The English establishment feared that Aussie Rules would take over their precious rugby. In ...

Re: Is State of Origin more important than Afl finals footy inWA?

Good things happening there along with State Of Origin. It's as quiet as ever on the rl front in W.A. ...

NFL overtaking rugby league on the BBC

“Domestic rugby league on the channel is declining with all audiences for live games below the timeslot average,” reported McIntyre, a St Helens fanatic. “For context, the 8.5 million people who view rugby league on the BBC this year is the same as the number who tuned in to watch the NFL last seaso...

from what ive heard the AFLs fta ratings are up 17% on last year which more than accounts for the drop in fox.
Yes and Fox is losing out big time to streaming. WatchAFL is so much cheaper and convenient.

Re: EXPANISON IN SPORT

Crowd Wise Perth would be an Instant Success.. Let's say for argument's sake that you are correct. It is only the long term that matters. The Reds started well and faltered. The Force started much better and were more successful and yet faltered. The Glory started well and has struggled ever since.
