Re: What is a VFL participant
Please don't respond with some tv stat or whatever ... The reality is that afl has a strong presence in nsw and qld as evidenced by the amount of leagues and clubs and the number of players playing at the highest level. Compare that to nrl and you have your answer there and then.

Re: What is a VFL participant
Rl is, let's admit it, pretty much confined to parts of nsw and act and a large proportion of qld although afl has a large presence in all these areas. Let's be real ...most posters acknowledge this ... The days of who is bigger have long gone, sure, people will tune in from time to time on the tv ,...

There are many more afl leagues and clubs than rugby league clubs by a mile,

What is a rugby league experience ?
Does anyone know how the nrl defined what a rl experience was when they stated 50000 people had a rl experience ? Did they operationalise this ?

Re: NRL tops Nations most watched sport again
I think x man gave a good response to Dave's good post ... Shows figures and stats can be twisted and turned. Whilst I saw a response to the post from x man I haven't seen any proper responses to his post apart from Dave who seemed to acknowledge thevalidity of xmans post and made a good point about...

Re: AFL NSW from strength to strength
How many rl clubs in Victoria ? I know there is the one league so not too many clubs. I'm unsure what a rl experience is? Does anyone? I wonder when they play an mlb game this year how many they will get ... Must mean baseball is popular lol but fact remains more people play baseball in Victoria tha...

Re: AFL NSW from strength to strength
I know the nr would love to have the presence the afl have in Sydney in non heartlands area And as,for dodgy figures ... The nrl try thid,as well reporting things such as rugby league experiences? I think they quoted donething like 50000 for Victoria lol but hey why wouldn't they talk up their produ...

Seems an intetesting debate... A good initial post by Dave I see and a good retort by xman . Shame there were some non sensical responses though like but but but anf pictured rather than addressing what people wrote

Re: SWines & his top 5 list
Thats a good point 21 I guess tge, thing is afl has a decent presence in all areas where rl does not. Afl and soccer are truely nationsl in thst respect where as rl is not. You csn go to any region in Australia just about and, there is a place you can play afl with telative ease same can't be said for...

Re: SWines & his top 5 list
I think you are forgetting fox ratings for Sydney but yes I see your point. Also gild coast afl woukd be 3rd at worst, likely second, and that's our 5th biggest city I think.

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia
Maybe it is maybe it isn't but my point is saying all nsw is rl is deceiving s Aussie rules bleeds across tge Murray. also afl has a large presence in nsw and is played across the country at reasonable leveld so mypoint is state boundaries are not really usefull. Coukd you do those sums for the coun...

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia
Of course this assumes nrl is all rl. If you use the barrasi line for instance southern nsw would be afl. Also gold coast would be second for afl at worst third but clearly bigger than soccer. So I'm not sure state boundries are useful here.
