Actually on could see how on tv it would like that ... A lot of people were undercover in standing area which surrounds the ground ... So on tv it would look a tad empty ... But definitely half full Dave.

Re: NRL blockbusters to fall well short in spectator stakes

Re: Battle of Canberra - AFL vs NRL
I didn't think it was questionable as to whether act was a rugby leauge area ?? I thought there was an untapped supporter base for the Aussie rules though which is shown by the ratings and crowd figures . I guess the aim is to grow this. So bit unsure what the argument is apart from a bit of stirrin...

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds Thread
I would agree with most. Think you'll get more for pies v tigers game though . Suns v port may be interesting , a good day may get more and people may smell a win ... But I think port will thump suns ... Yeah btw 14 and 16000 .

Re: Options for a lopsided comp
Hmmm ... Picking the bottom 6 at round three. I'll have a go. I will take the two easy ones first in gws and demons. I'll go bulldogs also . I'll take those ad my bottom three. The next three a little more difficult ... Pies, hawks , swans, freo, Geelong will be in the eight I think leaving 8 teams ...

Re: the battle of the gold coast , NRL V VFL
You do have a point there Dave ... They are definitely competing for market share in the entertainment area , my point is that the people don't care too much and don't see it as an invasion or anything . Both just accept that they have two football codes in their area and there is little of the &quo...

Re: the battle of the gold coast , NRL V VFL
I see where you are coming from Dave but I think it is more confined to Sydney . Up here I have noticed a general acceptance of the suns ... There was a little early on in previous years but it seems to disappeared this year. I think maybe Sydney is the last area where this continues . Melbourne don...

I thought near on 13000 was good and as mentioned earlier I thought maybe 9000 given the weather ... A good indicator of grass roots support as fair weather supporters would not have gone last night ...

Re: the battle of the gold coast , NRL V VFL
The title of this thread eludes to something that just doesn't exist. Both the afl and nrl ..... And numerous other sports generally get on harmoniously in the GC. Surfing is also a major sport here with loads of interest . So there is no battle although I would say there are watchful eyes from both...
