Why is there no such animosity toward rl in Melbourne or Perth or Adelaide etc?? I wondering it is either one of two things ... Nrl people see afl ad a threat ... Or afl are seen as arrogant and a chip on their shoulder ?? Maybe a bit if both I think.

Found this ... As can be seen crowds seem to fluctuate but as can be seen compared to when they started averages have certainly increased with natural variance over the years .

Can we get the figures for averages since they have been in Sydney ? It would be easy to pick the best average crowd to compare to however as a statistic that's not really a good way to measure as the variables you have rightly pointed out can influence crowd numbers. What would possibly be more use...

I think the storm are doing okay but no where near the penetration afl is having in Sydney. When I lived in Vic if my son wanted to play rl there simply wasn't a club or competition in the area ... RD ... I think it depends on your definition of success. The measures you mention as success would see it having the same profile as NRL ... So what does constitute reasonable success for the afl in Sydney. Crowds are over 20000 consistently for most games, membership at all time highs?
