Re: Footy Crowds - 2025
Giants crowd tonight looks packed - it’s in Canberra so I don’t really see this as a good thing per se - when you have more support in csnberra than you do in the area you’re meant to represent I think thst it concerning. Either embrace western Sydney or move to Canberra.
They played at the ...

on top of wug^b^y Australia shitting the bed again in 2024 financially
the A League attempts to reign in spending appear to have failed with the comp on life support & the miniscule central distribution amount of $530K possibly to be reduced further & a hard cap on players to be applied of 3 ...

Re: Rugby Australia records $27m loss

thats appalling
No real national league hurt them, the “#” Super series meant the viewing times were all over the place. The disorganised response to South Africa abandoning the series hurt them again, and the CEO who had no idea what was going on and overvalued them when the ones ...

Sooner or later one of the streaming services will get exclusive rights(maybe not every game) to one of the NRL or AFL.

HBF has been used for international RU and international soccer games in recent years. While not great it's still in better condition than a number of Sydney groundsazif wrote: Mon Apr 07, 2025 2:46 pmBig games that will easily outstrip HBF's 20K capacity ( aka the Warriors ) can be taken to Optus anyway

Re: Soccer World Cup 2022
SBS has rights to all the matches at the World Cup. But you are right, it’s not a big deal qualifying for it anymore. They have not won a match at the World Cup for 12 years and can’t see that changing.

Happens in cricket quite oftenPete__09 wrote: Wed May 25, 2022 3:19 pmThis how stupid it all is. If a team is up 2-0 in the series they still have a meaningless game 3.
Imagine that happening in any other sport on earth. It just shows how desperate Rugby League is for Origin because without it the sport would be broke.
