Super League is at another “crisis” point…one of many they have had over the years.
Expanding to 14 is interesting when their “partner” manager IMG thinks the optimum is 12 and the NRL thinks it is 10.

Some rule changes with ain to shorten length of each game. Some are minor - but the last touch out of bounds rule I am not sure about. Anyway - the one thing they never mention -for obvious reasons, but is the biggest contributor to game length - is the 30 seconds they take between goals to allow ...

The $ rates of the cost of advertising, exclusive to one network or shown on both, times of games and shown in isolation. Many different factors as well as advertising opportunities

If you look at the AFL clubs they dwarf the nrl clubs in advertising dollars also

The AFL gets more for the broadcast deals and far more in the advertising dollars than the nrl for the league and its clubs

The NRL should be far ahead in this regard due to NSW and Qld being the 1st and 3rd largest advertising markets as a total

So population wise Perth to Brisbane and surrounding areas is twice the size so won’t increase the broadcast deal by much as the AFL putting a new team in Brisbane or NSW
