Google some of his work  Probably the biggest AFL highlights package i've every watched, 7 minutes. He's pretty decent, is he the best? Doesnt seem that AFL is as c...

Re: AFL vs NRL grandfinal TV viewer predications.. who will

Finals Week 1: AFL 2013 = 4,610,000 AFL 2012 = 4,861,000 Finals Week 2: AFL 2013 = 2,749,000 AFL 2012 = 3,063,000 Note the overall increase of 4 - 6.6% in ratings compared to last year. Taking isolated rounds isnt an accurate reflection of growth as isolated games or finals round ratings are affect...

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia

My point is that with 20 extra games crowds between 2013 and 2010 fell 200k. And most of those 20 games seem to be interstate, so no reduction to heartland state games. Yeah, AFL has always had greater crowds than NRL because it's better watched at the game and generally followed by a wealthier segm...

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia

I agree that'd have some impact. But not to the tune of 200,000 less people WITH TWENTY extra games. Two more factors. Renovations to the SCG and Skilled stadium, reducing crowd sizes. Uncompetitive teams in the suns and giants which resulted in smaller crowds due to blow outs. These affects were r...

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia

I agree that'd have some impact. But not to the tune of 200,000 less people WITH TWENTY extra games. Looking at the mathematical thread: 147 games played in heartland states in 2010 145 games played in heartland states in 2012. And I assume same in 2013. All I see is that they have put in 24 extra g...

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia

Yeah, introducing two new teams that average below 15k would drag overall down. Except that TOTAL attendances followed the exact same trend. 186 games in 2010 = 7,146,738 in the season. 196 games in 2011 = 7,139,854 in the season 207 games in 2012 = 6,778,824 in the season 207 games in 2013 = 6,926,...

Err, similar numbers? So 500k Melbourne = 622k Melbourne???? Yeah, just inflate your numbers by 20%. I know you need it.

Re: AFL vs NRL grandfinal TV viewer predications.. who will

Okay, 620k regionals and foxtel. A gross overestimate since you took those stats from the "biggest friday footy audience since 01" Add that to 800k and you get 1.45mil. ANDDDDDD an nrl regular season match STILL beat an AFL final or equaled it. Not very flattering either way.

Re: AFL vs NRL grandfinal TV viewer predications.. who will

Also, people talking about the massive drops in Fox ratings for NRL this year, around ~8%. That miraculously also coincided with the availability of the NRL iPad app, and digital rights for the new NRL deal are worth $150 million, the cost of a season of ipad streaming at 80 bucks for a season vers...
