I somehow doubt that report is accurate, Jez. NT rugby league is in better shape than it is in either of those states on club player numbers.

Well all i can do is go by the annual report released by the NRL..look it up makes for some interesting reading.

Btw someone referred me to the NRL annual report which shows that the NT is almost on par with WA and VIC as far as club player numbers go.

Thats says a lot about the health of league in VIC and WA!

Just moved up to Alice this yr...Aussie rules is king up here but rugby league/soccer and union all have a presence.

Aussie rules has 3 divisions for the seniors..some years there 20 teams, other years up to 30 I'm told. Fluctuates a lot depending on if the outlining communities put a team together ...

Bathurst now has 2 jounior aussie rules clubs..the 'bathurst giants' to join the local league this year. Great news all round!
