NRL Grand Final dropped nearly 100k when consolidated.

what i find hilarious is that the time isnt the point. Its the duration.

But here’s where it gets interesting, and where media articles have missed the point….

TV Tonight has confirmed the AFL Entertainment averaged 2.05 hrs with OzTAM.

The NRL Entertainment was just 9 minutes from 6:29pm to 6:37pm.

So I did a quick search and got this for Dolphins home games - 23358 - that includes the Darwin game - so lets take that out as only wanting QLD crowds for comparison - and average is 24339.

This is home and away of course.

Lions averaged 31456 for home and away. My results say (need verifying ...

With the NFL in town and playing at the MCG - I noted a lot through coverage of media in US - including through the game - that AFL/Aussie Rules was covered a lot. Obviously this will create some interest in the game - but how much - probably negligible - but it is a big market. Watched a bit of ...

The 2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series has put on another blockbuster weekend with sold-out stadiums and record viewership numbers dominating the sporting landscape across the weekend.

Across the two matches, the Seven and Kayo / Foxtel broadcasts reached 7.9 million Australians with an average total ...

Other codes when on the odd occasional sell out don’t have these problems. Is it they don’t have many seasonal ticket holders?

Partially

AFL - Wildcard Final

Melbourne Demons vs Carlton Blues @MCG
Crowd: 91,733

Friday night looking bigger. MCC and AFL reserves sold out, GA sold out. Only MCC walkups remaining now. 95k+

The AFL needs to fix the ticketing issues out, many games are stated to be sell outs but at the MCG, SCG, Gabba venues but are several thousand off the listed capacities the NRL doesn’t seem to have such issues on the occasions they do have a sell out

Problem is stadium members (at the G, SCG ...

makes me think if NRL and AFL have the data
why not publish it more.

They 100% have the data. But its like any stats they own, sparsely released, for their own reasons.
See: NRL clubs and membership data, AFL and player stats

crowd data ...

Cheers Wookie. Gees would love to know the STV Fox Footy/Kayo numbers for last nights epic Hawthorn vs Collingwood draw. I would think the tv ratings would have been very good. I wish the AFL would release more STV tv ratings like the NRL have been doing many times this season. Is what it is I ...

Until we know Fox ratings it’s all circumspect

you let me know when you have some of those.

That’s my point.

welcome to january 2025. We can only do what we can do.

WOMEN’S AFL: THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBAL Seven 182k

is 182k viable ?

1st primetime hitout on ch7

1st primetime hitout on ch9 for the NRLW >>>>> 279,000

its worth noting the difference in data is extrapolated from like 29 more households on the ratings panel (1% v 0.65%). We're talking margin of ...
