This weekend England host Australia in the first match of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup. England have already been humbled by minnows Italy in a warm up match while pre-tournament favourites the Kiwis & Kangaroos have had no such problems.

Re: stormed out
No way are they finished. They have too much talent, self belief and drive not to be a successful team. What's the old saying, "Even Bradman got a duck"?

Re: Golden Boot Fiasco
GI is god's gift to Rugby League. But even he doesn't get the ball if doesn't come from Smith or Cronk. They both control everything in game. Including when GI is allowed to have a run (of course it's different at Souths but when he was at Melbourne and when he's in the QLD & Australia teams this is ...

New "Retro" Jersey
I was recently contacted by Classic Sportswear to inform me that they no longer have the contract to make NRL merchandise and therefore will no longer be producing the extremely popular Retro jersey range. Clothing manufacturer Canterbury now has the contract for the NRL.

Re: Golden Boot Fiasco
100% true but the real indication at the strength of their game comes from when pommy players who crack the NRL are asked 'what's the difference between the comps?'. They always reply, "There are no easy games. The game is alot tougher here". Just like you can't hide behind your gaol kicking ...

Re: RL World Cup Year. How's AFL doing?
Yes New Zealand has one professional club but thousands of professionals playing in Australia, NZ, England and France. That's why they can choose a national team. That's why it means so much to play for their country. I guess you wouldn't understand as AFL players don't have the chance to represent ...

RL World Cup Year. How's AFL doing?
This is a World Cup year for Rugby League with nations from around the globe competing for the top honour. There will be some lopsided scorelines with minnows playing established countires but it will be entertaining and enthralling. Can't wait for the Aussie Rules World Cup. Hang on a minute ...

Golden Boot Fiasco
Early Saturday morning Leeds succumbed to Melbourne in the World Club Challenge. Once again Aussie fans saw the contribution Kevin SInfield had against a side from down under. The fact this man was awarded the Golden Boot Award as best player in the world is a travesty. Clearly the judges had been ...

Farewell the glorious Shoulder Charge
RIP The Shoulder Charge. You will be sorely missed by fans and players alike. Looks like the ARLC won't be happy untill all players cuddle on the field like in AFL. Every highlight reel will now be but shadow of what it used to be

Unfortunately that wouldn't come to pass because a quarter of the QLD squad would be ineligable.

Re: Selction Eligibility
I like your point. There is a small problem though. I played footy in both NSW & QLD when I was young, as did my brother. If I was any good and actually made first grade would I choose which state to represent or would it be where I was born? What if I was born on the Gold Coast but moved to Sydney ...

Selction Eligibility
In response to Josh Papaali's decision to choose Australia and QLD over New Zealand I have decided to bring up a topic on how best to improve the selection process and eligibility.
The first one would be to not let QLD choose anything because it's a well known fact they roart the system more than ...
