Disgrace alright. The girlfriend of his doesn't sound any better either. Both drug addicts. Still no excuse for him assaulting her.

I've never been impressed with a man who has control or physical violence issues, let alone top him up with drugs and alcohol to inflame the situation. Wayne, it's time to admit you have problems and seek professional help.

Carey is one of the great champions of the game and his antics over the years are a great shame. I believe, that like Cousins, he believes himself bulletproof because people have been falling at his feet and patting on the back so for years. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and Duck and Cuz were both at absolute power when they REALLY mucked up! Sad

Anyone else catch the Carey interview on Denton tonight. Sounds like he had a rough upbringing. I felt sorry for him at times throughout the interview even though I thought he skirted alot of the hard questions/issues. His father sounds like a real piece of work. What were your thoughts?

yeah saw bits and pieces but i think he put on an act a little to make people feel sorry for him. Alot of people have rough upbringings but i guess we dont see or get to hear about these people because they wernt elite athletes! I did however see careys old man in the paper and need i say anything???? haha ill never feel sorry for carey after wot he did with the team mates wife!! very unaustralian!

Being a high paid top player it is unfortunate that this type of thing occurs
Maybe the AFL & NRL and for that matter all sports should be encouraging players to go into other types of employment after there careers
Yes I know that Carey was in the media but these players do not understand poverty and waste there money on useless commodities like drugs
There has to be something looked at to assist this type of player from falling out of grace after there sensational careers
Look at one of the best players ever Gary Ablett similar scenario
I say come on AFL & NRL ban drugs altogether caught once 6 weeks suspension
caught a second time 12 months caught a third time life
This may encourage players to steer clear of the Dealers in the first place
