I want all your hard luck gambling stories in this forum- the "tragedies beaten," the "lucky breaks" and any other "hard luck" stories. I have many of my own that I will share with you.
I also encourage regular gamblers to share their tips and "good things" with other members from the races, trots, dogs or sports betting. I'm sure there is not enough of us on here (yet) to do too much damage to prices of our specials!
I will provide regular links to betting agencies and prices for your information.

I'm hardly what you would call a punter when it comes to the horses or sports. My gambling dollar is generally restricted to the odd burl on the pokies or a punt on the Melbourne Cup.
I've had few good wins and many nasty losses over the years. I know you can't win, sadly I can't help myself sometimes. Sorry Crocman, I know that is not exactly the type of gambling story you were looking for, unfortunately it is all I have. Yes I'm a pokie playing fool who has been known to prop up the finances of various Sydney rugby league clubs. |

I know I know. I even had a free membership of Easts that I use to put to use thanks to their sponsorship of the Swans.
It wont happen again though now that the Swans have their own social club with pokies. My pokie dollars will never again support rugby league. |

I don't bet on the horses or sport.
I prefer a good game of cards. Including non-gambling games. _________________

I've betted on most things and like everyone am definitely in the red with all forms of gambling except the casino. One night with beaussie we hit the casino with $65 dollars between us. I dont know why I went to the $25 blackjack tables but it worked a treat. I dont think I lost 2 games in a row over the next 4 hours and ended up with $2200 which I split with beaussie. Was just like the movies, people betting behind me and watching while the chips just piled up, lovely night. Funny thing was I never would have won if I didnt spill beer over the table early on and get moved to another seat, hence changing the deals we got. _________________

Ahh what a night that was. Sadly no such luck on the next couple of visits to Star City. |

True beaussie. The next few visits we lost 200 and 400 respectively . But each time I've played blackjack I've gotten over 100 ahead before losing. Love that game. _________________

well, this little black duck missed out on the gambling bug. mind you my first ever bet as a youngster was the 1982 Melbourne Cup and won a quinella with Gurners Land and Kingston Town.
my old girl was into the gallops though. she succesfully picked the trifecta in a Cup one year which paid in the thousands, but the silly bitch didnt place the bet!!!!!!!
and i never let her forget it either.
gambling in Canada just isnt the done thing, so not much to report there, and my US friends just arent into it, so havent had the chance to donate to my local Indian Tribe whilst ive been here.....
cheers
