the AFL & NRL talk up the "cumulative figures" all the time>

by saying tv ratings are up 5% year on year etc..

Biggest year yet AFL claimed in 2017

CROWDS
SPONSORSHIP
MEDIA DEAL
GATE TAKINGS
TV RATINGS
ETC ETC
it's not unreasonable to compare cumulative ratings for the same program from one year, or even one month, to the next because the factors are identical. Comparing one program to another is not usually comparable.

Oh Jesus
One codes ratings have dropped alarmingly
The other RL is ever so slightly down .
Please don't lump us in the same category as your dwindling viewer base .

Yep. We are multi millions up on the AFL when compared to the same time last year. Unfortunately we won't ever know the exact number as all the AFL number counters have disappeared into the jungle lololololololol.

All your fox numbers & Friday night games are accounted for. Those figures alone are enough to work out your overall trend. Fox are down 13% & Fridays 18%. After 10 rounds last year you had about 45M viewers. 10% less means 4.5M less viewers this year. 15% means 6.75M less.

Anyway you cut it the AFL is down multi millions of viewers compared to last year.

yes I agree the overall figures are down, however, as Wookie said, many ratings are missing, especially regionals. You seem to be suggesting no one is adding the AFL ratings because they dont want to show the ratings are lower. I disagree. MediaweekAus just arent giving as much detail this year

Seems like your just looking for an excuse LOL.The only one they haven't tweeted this week is your regionals on your 400k metros from last night - so its a clear smashing add in 140-150k for regionals and its still a total smashing............But, but, but

im not talking about individual games, Im talking overall. No regionals are being posted by mediaweekAus for Sat and Sun games, and sometimes even Fridays. So how does Wookie tally them?

Lol maybe just maybe afl hasn't got enough regionals to reach the cutoff point .

There's many more people in Regional RL areas than AFl areas.
Hence why we have always had large regional numbers .
