Just out of curiosity what are AFL players paid?

You people sure put a lot of faith in Gilliganspeak

You might like to add Shanghai, Most successful overseas venture, to your other fairy tales.
This year average salaries.
AFL : $309,000
NRL : $233,000
32% more for the AFL lads. And there's almost twice as many players.

I bracket Shanghai in with expansion.

Precisely which ones are fairy tales?
You must have shares in a food business in China .
The average NRL wage is $313 thousand increasing to $330 over the current contract.

He was covering so much ground at fullback that his GPS readings resembled that of an AFL player.

GPS data from Australian NRL games shows that players cover between ~5-8km per match with backs covering more distance in a match than forwards. Much of this distance is covered with low-intensity activity (walking or jogging) with high-intensity burst and sprints interspersed throughout.

We already new that people running on fresh legs can run further than people on jellied legs. Being that this article was back in 2012 they would of had 120 interchanges. Meaning they would put there hand up for a spell every 10 min on average. This doesn't make them athletes. Rather there tag team tactics just makes them sad, a shell of what a real athlete is.

The current contract ends next week for the NRL. What you're referring to is the NRLs next contract. 2018-22
Get it straight will ya. :****:

The averages I quoted are the current/this years ones for both leagues.

Player payments are made in November ie. last Month . The TV money doesn't start until January. This is why they took out a loan

I think you'll find it was Pussycat who said the AFL were struggling for ratings. I Just wanted Pussycat to highlight which aspect of our competition could do with a bit more effort.
As it turns out, to my astonishment we actually lead in all the major indices as a stand alone competition.
Not struggling at all.
And seeing it all compiled really painted a bleak picture of the current state of your little league.
The NRLL as I'll call it from now.

Number One for recovery time from repeated ultra high physical effort.
I'll add it to the long list of number ones.
As opposed to the NRLL, very little recovery time equals,.... Well,...... How should I put it,.....a pack of lazy, overweight meat heads not doing much at all.
You only need to watch a highlights package to see the evidence of this.
Brief and lacking content is a nice way to put it.
Actually calling it highlights is a farce.
