On the sunny coast this weekend ... and the school championships wer on from Friday to Sunday. Interesting hearing the growth of the game in qld. 100 extra school teams this year compared to last .. 419 last year 520 this year. Gold Coast teams dominated but also teams from cairns and Townsville as well as sunny coast . What also stood out that here was a multi sports site with 3 full sized ovals. Just in Maroochydore. Aussie rulesis pretty small on the sunny coast yet one club has three ovals... and there are several clubs that play in the local league. Seems Aussie rules continues to grow and spread across this great state.

Weather was atrocious though ...

Fantastic news for Qld footy. Hopefully in the future it goes some way to addressing the problems the Lions and Suns have had with young players pulling the homesick card to get traded to other clubs. With more local talent, hopefully things improve for footy in Qld.

This is the Aussie rules forum aflcrap. Why you so negative everything afl? Just a story of some kids playing Aussie rules at schools and how Aussie rules in schools is growing in qld. I am happy to put a thread in the fight club for a juvenile pissing contest
