given this board is basically a massive dick measuring contest, which you participate in, discussions around crowds, demand and ticket prices are perfectly reasonable. You may find them silly but others dont. No one forces you to be involvedTerry wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2017 8:30 pmFight about something that means something ya dill. If you wanna obsess about tickets go back to your kinda class. The crowds this year will be about 80k NRL V 100k AFL like every other year.
Now move on to something remotely intelligent ya dills

Ticket prices and the fact the NRL is giving away free tickets to ther GF in an attempt to get a full crowd is hilarious, and exactly why we have this forum

Re: GRAND FINALS 2017
Your kidding yourself. Sydney teams not being in the AFL grandfinal is a massive blow to potential ratings for AFL in Australias largest city.
While Sydneysiders will always watch the NRL grand final due to so many NRL teams being in the city.
And Melbourne Storm will have a lot Victorians watching the final out of curiosity.
Last Cowboys vs Broncos match was one of the highest rating grand finals ever.

One thing i must admit the NRL does beat the AFL in is Grand Final entertainment. But if they have Macklemore then its safe to say that wont happen this year. HA

Re: GRAND FINALS 2017
Wookie do you have any data regarding the usual tv viewing advertising rates for the time slots of when the respective grand finals are onThe_Wookie wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 1:55 pmThe ad break straight after a goal is kicked in the AFL grand final fetches anywhere between $150,000 to $175,000 per 30-seconds, sometimes even more.
In the TV business, this makes the AFL grand final the closest live sports event we have to the Super Bowl in an advertising sense. The other major sporting event that comes close is the NRL grand final on Nine, which charges about $125,000 per 30-second spot.

Certainly will! It’s all most worth having a few glances over at the nrllls grand final to chuckle over the empty seats! Especially when at the pub! It’s always fun to rev those mullet head bogans up

Except it is Saturday afternoon and if you don't follow afl or have a cursory interest you possibly not at home. Whereas, Sunday night and you really don't follow afl or only have a cursory interest you' may watch or flick over at least. More people watching tv on Sunday night. The caveat to this is it's a long weekend in qld and nsw too I believe.
Take me... I'm likely to watch the nrl grand final as will be home. If it was on during the day on Saturday even and I had an offer to go out or go for a surf ... I'd probably do that.
