what idiot picked Football as the most racist code. how brain dead are you.
Soccer has had huge issues with crowd violence, some of it race related. I didnt vote for it but it's probable not a bad vote
I assumed this was in Australia, hard to keep up with some people. If I want to bring in overseas stuff to argue for football I get told only Australian context, so that's why I assumed it was Australia only

Last I looked afl was the dominant sport in nt and wa and has a strong following in nsw and qld so not sure if they are southern ... and south is relative to where you are. Tasmanians may see it as a northern sport for instance :)
Strong following. As in nearly all AFL games relegated to 7mate due to such poor ratings and the AFL footy show on at 1am in NSW & QLD.

If you say so Fred lol.

I would say a strong following is even going a bit far.

Since when has a sport with a strong following had their footy show shown at 1am?

Would'nt it be shown at prime time with such a so called strong following?

stronger following would be more members, bigger rating games, far larger crowds, far more revenue

I guess the definition of a strong following can be broad I guess. For me good local leagues and participation numbers as well as good crowds membership of afl clubs for some is a sign of strong following.

You guys can come up with all the figures you want. But at the end of the day AFLs footy show being on at 1am says it all about AFLs presence in NSW & Qld

Why not put it at prime time?

Why don't they put the AFL on 7 instead of better homes and gardens repeats??

Strong following is a joke lol.. :(/

I agree. Have always said that the afl will know when they have made real inroads when such shows are shown at a decent time on the TVs. So no arguement there. So yes, not a strong enough following for that, and I would argue if that was happening then it may be having more than a strong following. I would say that you have good grass roots in participation and a number of clubs and leagues. You are also getting good crowds or comparative crowds and membership is also good. I would say this constitutes a strong following but at the very least a good following.

I will ask this .. would Rl would love to have this level of support outside its traditional areas ?
