Racist Hick towns

ense and critical thought don’t matter anymore. Raw feelings trump all.
And of course, those feelings are more important than anything else. It matters not whether there is any correlation with facts or intention to harm. Just act like a victim and get outraged.
As it happens, Toowoomba is the latest target. The whole town. It is, apparently, a festering cesspool of hatred. One of Australia’s worst, in fact.
Aboriginal activist Dr Stephen Hagan this week let spray at the regional Queensland town.
“Toowoomba is the most racist city in Australia,” Dr Hagan told the Sunshine Coast Daily.
Put it on Toowoomba’s welcome sign.
The atrocity to spark such vitriol was committed by the local Terry White Chemist. They put up a sign encouraging shoppers to “Experience a White Christmas” and situated golliwog dolls underneath it.
A bit stupid? Sure.
But a terrible, racist crime that uncovers the deep-seated hatred of Aborigines harboured by all 114,000 Toowoombans?
“Words can’t describe this behaviour in the 21st century,” Dr Hagan said. “I can understand it in the 1960s but to do it today is inexcusable.”
