Sky TV retains Super League rights in record £90m deal
That's around $180 million dollars for a start and that was only for the ESL, the Challenge Cup, Co-Op conference and International deals are still to be done as are the internet rights.

Does the afl even get 10 million per 5 years for their international coverage NSWAFL?

Could you please provide the evidence?

10 clubs in the semi pro Co-op championship, they have a salary cap as well.

Can NSWAFL point me to one comp of AFL outside Australia that has a semi pro 10 team comp with a salary cap?

Co-Op championship 1 with 11 semi pro clubs across England and Wales, this comp also has a salary cap.

Could NSWAFL point to me where there is an equivalent AFL comp outside Australia?

Both these co-op comps are sponsored by you guess it, The Co-operative.

Could NSWAFL point to me where any AFL comp outside Australia has such a sponsorship in place?

Northern Rail Cup is a knockout competition for clubs below SL, they also have French and Welsh clubs involved and have at least 32 games Televised nationally Live.

Premier coverage for Championships in 2012

Up to 32 games from the Co-operative Championship, Championship One and Northern Rail Cup will be televised live by Premier Sports next season after a deal was agreed between the broadcaster and the RFL.

Matches will mainly be screened in the popular Thursday night viewing slot and opportunities are being explored to provide a number of double headers that will mean greater coverage for more teams.

The RFL’s Commercial Director Paul Kimberley said: “We’re delighted to confirm Premier Sports as the broadcaster for the Championships next season and look forward to working with them.

“The Championships have provided fantastic entertainment for TV viewers over the past few years and fans will now be able to watch action from the NRL and the Co-operative Championships in the same place.”

There will be one game shown live from the Championship or Championship One in each of the regular rounds and at least three play-off games will be televised as well as both the Championship and Championship One Finals.

As in previous years one game from the Northern Rail Cup quarter-finals and semi-finals will be shown live as well as the final.

Premier Sports executive Richard Webb said: “This is a superb opportunity for the channel to build on the great relationship we have with Rugby League fans in the UK. Next season we plan to broadcast 200 Rugby League games between the NRL and Championship which works out at 40p per game if fans take out a 12-month season ticket.

“Viewers can expect extended pre-match build-ups and analysis that will get to the true heart of the game at Championship level.”

Could NSWAFL please post a link to where any Non Australian AFL side gets Live TV coverage?

Thanks.

As of yesterday, Stobarts are the new naming rights sponsor for Super League.

Super League will be sponsored by nationwide logistics company Stobart in 2012, the Rugby Football League have announced.

Stobart, who are the principal shirt sponsors of Super League newcomers Widnes Vikings and have naming rights to their Halton Stadium, are taking over from Engage Mutual Assurance, who called a halt to their seven-year sponsorship of the game’s elite competition at the end of last season.

A statement from the governing body said: “The RFL confirms that Stobart Group has today agreed heads of terms to secure title naming rights to Rugby League’s Super League.”

The RFL have not divulged the length of the contract but say details of the new partnership will be unveiled at a news conference next Wednesday.

The new Super League season starts on Friday, February 3, when Widnes host Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Leeds Rhinos launch the defence of their title against Hull KR.

Stobarts are a massive company across Europe, they own hundreds of trucks, they own trains, have 2 airports and they do shipping.

They sponsor 2 cars in the WRC and they also deliver the engines for Mercedes and their Formula 1 team.

Salary cap in the ESL.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_League
Salary cap
The Super League operates under a salary cap system that will calculate a club’s salary cap position at the start of and throughout the season.[15]
The combined earnings of the top 25 players must not exceed £1.6 million.
Clubs will only be allowed to sign a new player if they have room under the cap.
Clubs are allowed to spend a maximum of £50,000 on players outside the top 25 earners who have made at least one first grade appearance for the club during the year.
Costs for players outside of the top 25 earners who do not make a first team appearance will be unregulated.
Any player who has played for the same club for at least 10 consecutive seasons will have half their salary excluded from the salary cap for his 11th and subsequent seasons. This is subject to a maximum of £50,000 for any one club.
1.6 million pounds per team, could NSWAFL show me where any AFL clubs outside Australia receive anywhere near this type of money?

Would any AFL club outside be within 50 times what these clubs get?

If you added all afl clubs together outside of Australia, would they get close to even 5% of these teams?

Thanks, look forward to you response.

School RL in the UK.

http://www.therfl.co.uk/championschools
The Carnegie Champion Schools tournament is the worlds biggest Rugby League knockout competition and one of the greatest success stories for the sport.

Open to every secondary school in England, Wales and Scotland – the tournament was re-launched back in 2002 by the RFL and the English Schools Rugby League.

Rugby League has seen an immense growth in schools over the last few years which will support the development of the sport in the future and this competition has played a vital role in introducing the game to an ever increasing number of young people throughout the United Kingdom.

This years tournament has seen a total of 1,678 teams take part, which was an increase of 175 from the previous year.

Overall 27,537 students took to the field which is up by 2,911 from last year and a staggering growth of 22,369 since 2002.
Could NSWAFL post where schools play AFL outside Australia (proper AFL, not Auskick and co) please?

http://www.thechallengecup.com/

This is the oldest Rugby knockout cup in the world and has been going since 1896.

And here are the results and crowds for the final since 1897.

http://www.thechallengecup.com/page.php?id=767

Could you show me any AFL comp outside Australia with this history and those crowds?

Do you think that would be 50 times bigger than all the AFL comps outside Australia put together?

Thanks mate.
