Saw an ad for this Gatorade replay thingie on the weekend when watching the football. Don't really understand what it's all about even after seeing the ad.

Well that's because this thread belongs on this board and not the AFL board.

The whole idea is a re-union. Old Collegians and Merrivale was a famous grand final in 1991, in which Merrivale won by 19 points - 16.16 (112) to 14.9 (93). It was famous because Merrivale got the wooden spoon in 1990, and so pulled the maximum leap in one season.

The present day teams clashed on the weekend in the Qualifying Final with Merrivale winning by 24 points. If they lose to Kolora/Noorat next week and OC defeat South Rovers, the present day teams could be clashing on the same weekend as this re-union!

And that came to pass! In the re-union game Old Collegians got their revenge, after the current team also won - only to lose the grand final this past weekend to Kolora/Noorat.
