Equals potentially more subs for future games, as game will see a split of around 50 / 50 on FTA and FOX>
they recan it is worth $100mill.
It has been quoted many times Extra team in Brisbane is worth around $200mill to the NRL over 5 years.
and when FTA to come they will hit that.
It is being reported that there will be 12 extra games over 26 rounds, I would expect Foxtel to get the majority of those and the majority of the new trams games. The new FTA agreement will be interesting.
And with the Foxtel “no strings attached” $100 million is the new team now worth $300 million over 5 years.

The biggest drawcard for a person to take out a Foxtel subscription would be being able to watch your team each week. The Broncos will no longer be on FTA almost every week. So a lot more Broncos supporters will be taking up fox. Qld like to watch Qld teams, with 4 teams to chose from more Qlders will take up fox. Not forgetting the followers of the new team.

While it would have been a lot better to see expansion in new markets like Adelaide or Perth.
A second Brisbane team is still a start. Seems like the Dolphins almost have it in the bag and will likely be called Sunshine State Dolphins.
Will definitely be a healthy rivalry to have two Brisbane teams in the NRL.

I think both the NRL and Foxtel have said there will not be less broncos games on FTA, so I think foxtel may get the majority of the new teams games. However the new FTA agreement may change all that.

The new Brisbane 2 team will play 24 games, but it is only offically an extra 12 games over the season because of the bye round.
New Brisbane team will get at least 50% on FTA.
the NRL will want to promote them.
Also Broncos have a limit of 16 FTA games per season.
so 16 FTA and 8 games on FOX.
NRL is set for GOLD when creating the 18th team.

Unless they move successfully into new territory I cannot see how there is any more potential around Australia. This latest move is converting the converted.
Overall I can’t see too many new fans. First year interest may be up a bit. But will fall gradually after that.

i recan clubs could be even more successful than the Storm off the field in Adelaide and Perth.
they will not be as successful on the field, that is just not happening.
but regards to fans at the game and tv ratings, per capita, will be better than the STORM
it already proves this without even having a NRL team in the cities.
Adelaide and Perth >> untapped. 4.6million people.

Is all about what the tv networks want with a second Brisbane team. Purely financial for Fox Sports.
