Deal. Nice first up crowd for the penny panthers :)

Hmm, lets see. Giants are 1 year old, playing in a small non heartland city, and against an equally small interstate club.

The NRL local derby involved 2 Sydney teams playing in Sydney and one was the NRLs equivalent of Collingwood apparently
it wasn't even 6K
it was less then 4

on a bright sunny Saturday too :-k

play it in minus 2 in July on a Monday Night
like the Raiders do .. & see if these F wits can attract up to 10K plus ... like the Raiders do

of course

theyd struggle to get 1000 & we all know it

Ah well found drac. That's the deal then, sorry I had completely forgot, hence my asking for the wager to be putup here.

Drac would you care to increase the wager to include signature of choice? :)

Will track crowds here:

Penrith v Raiders (Centrebet) - 10,882
Penrith v Rabbits (Centrebet) - 12,940
Penrith v Titans (Centrebet) - 8,181
Penrith v Eels (Centrebet) - 14,211
Penrith v Storm (Centrebet)
Penrith v Warriors (Centrebet)
Penrith v Tigers (Centrebet)
Penrith v Dragons (Centrebet)
Penrith v Knights (Centrebet)
Penrith v Roosters (Centrebet)
Penrith v Cowboys (Centrebet)
Penrith v Broncos (Centrebet)

Penrith Average: 11,553.

Giants v Swans (ANZ) - 23,690
Giants v Saints (Manuka) - 11,092
Giants v Suns (Manuka) - 6,832
Giants v Crows (Skoda)
Giants v Eagles (Skoda)
Giants v Cats (Skoda)
Giants v Port (Skoda)
Giants v Dogs (Manuka)
Giants v Essendrug (Skoda)
Giants v Demons (Skoda)
Giants v Tigers (Skoda)

GWS Average: 13,871

Wow, look at the penny panthers average soaring and the GWS average plummeting. Great viewing =D> Jolly good show here folks :D =D> And really, it's hard to justify ANZ as an official home ground of the Giants, more like the Swans home ground but, being the top guy I am I wont argue the matter. A slow painful beating is just so much more enjoyable, yes?

I wonder how many GWS will round up to get to adeliade and West Coast vis a vis Penny v the storm and warriors...? I'd gather it'll be closish but penny's lightning performance with their youngsters against the eels will certainly keep their fans interested for a while. Personally I'm predicting the basketcase league matchup of GWS v Western Bulldogs out at Manuka/StarTrak will be the straw that breaks the gws camels backs. :<>

I'm not verly worried, for starters AFL have said their a 25year project, secondly we all know they may be lucky to pull off two wins this year as really 90% of their players are kids. Lastly Sydney people are basically band wagon jumpers, when things a down thrir not interrsted, they find other things which are more fun to do (like surfing for the northern/eastern/southern suburbs - breaking into cars and, doing B&E's and causing riots for the western suburbs). But when their teams doing well then Surprise, surpise every one loves them! Thats what happens with most of the RL clubs up there. I have no doubt as soon as most of theit star kids hit 100 games their climb up the ladder will be dramatic! All the RL people are trying to say is it's a failure - for what ends I can't say. But my gut feeling is that with constant pressure from NRL HQ and their fans they hope to turn people off the side before they start jumping on band wagons. Unfortunatley its only die hard fans that are that fanatical to remember. GWS is no doubt giving all their juniors free passes, just like the Swans did in the 80's. I'm fine with this because now a lot of those juniors have grown up and are buying memberships. Thats why the Swans now have 34 K members - so yes their a basket case and yes their crowds will continue to fall (not much from canberra however). The problem for Penrith however is not as good, 1st they have lowmembership even compared to GWS, 1st they listed in the 2012 report they owed 83 mil to ANZ in 3 seperate cash advance facilities (they expect to repay these with the sale of their hotel assets by April/May 2013 for advances 1&2 but the 3rd advance not til 2016 worth 35 mil) this is a staggering amount if money owed - their league social club lost a staggering 8 mil for the 2012 year http://www.panthersgroup.com.au/Corpora ... al_Reports. After winning the premiership in 2003 they had a massive boost in attendances the following year and their average was above 15k - after coming runner up in 2010 after finishing 2nd in home and away their attendances average did not rise it fell and fell again in 2012. On a positive note junior participation increased 11% in 2011 (AFL had a 39% increase between 2001-2008). But certainly hard times ahead!
LARGEST MEMBERSHIP, LARGEST PROFIT, LARGEST HOME CROWD AVERAGE - THE BIGGEST CLUB IN SYDNEY - THE SYDNEY SWANS
