apparently the storm crowd is diabolically low.cooee wrote:Big day in the history of Rugby League in Victoria today.
Mahe Founa becomes the first born and bred Victorian to play for the Storm.
9k, and no afl in Melbourne to compete with.
Their average is now 12.6k , and theyre in the finals!

Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

@dan_robinson_23 @mj_lynch #NRL GEM Mel 10k Ade 5k Per 6k
The above ratings are for the live Friday night storm game!
10k watched on TV and 9k went to the game in Melbourne! And they're second on the ladder.
KE? Is this your idea of love?

Love is growing in that city, I've seen it with mine eyes and heard it with mine ears Xman. Plus 1 in 10 melbournites sit down to watch origin 3 times each and every year. That's 400,000! Never used to be so popular did RL in melbourne. A great and true title to this thread and hasnt it stirred up those afl nutters.

What are you on about TLPG?
I'm stating the facts matey. And those facts exist in melbourne town. Sure the crowds are still not the biggest at the games but they're there and it takes a long time for a large shift in culture to occur. GWS and the AFL understand this and that team'll have jack diddly support for a long time to come but eventually they too will build. It's just unfortunate the AFL have yet to develop something like SOO to promote their game in non Marngrook heartlands.

Re: Is Melbourne Starting To Fall In Love With Leagu
ah no, Melbourne love a sporting contest whcih provides an interesting rivalry at the highest level, which SOO provides. But as far as regular RL goes the NRL crowd's and ratings couldnt be much lower, especially for a team second on the ladder.King-Eliagh wrote:Love is growing in that city, I've seen it with mine eyes and heard it with mine ears Xman. Melbourne says yes to SOO as a spectacle but no to RL as a sport.

You are stating fiction. You are a liar and the proof lies in the Storm crowds at home and the TV ratings in Melbourne.King-Eliagh wrote:What are you on about TLPG?
