Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
it was quite obvious moving from FOX which has strong reach but limited,
to Paramount behind another paying service which was new and 1 game on channel 10
was going to kill the A League.
the A League Believers thought it was great for leaving FOX> for Paramount.
channel 10 needed to have min 2 games a week, finals and GF LIVE

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Last night in Melbourne
AFL - Carlton vs Richmond
Crowd: 72,179 at the MCG
NRL - Melbourne vs South Sydney
Crowd: 13,269 at AAMI Park
Wow, seriously…. why did the NRL think this scheduling was a good idea?

The NRL don’t count and ignore the BIG AFL crowds, they are “Outliers”

There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
the NRL are funny..
they Play Storm in Sydney in round 1 when no AFL in melbourne.
than round 2 play 1st game at home against the traditional Season opener for the AFL in Richmond v Carlton.
you recan AFL would do that with the Swans.

You should really heed the sage words of the great Wookie who said, "Fans and pundits need to essentially ignore the AFL’s attendance figures. It’s a statistical anomaly in Australian sport..." and ".....there’s no need for the hyperbole around crowds either." A great man is that Wookie lololol!!!

If it happens consistently and over a long period of time it is not an anomaly. It’s the level other codes aspire to.Terry wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:59 pmQuolls2019 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 7:31 amThe NRL don’t count and ignore the BIG AFL crowds, they are “Outliers”

the only thing consistent & can be relied upon is fumblers to vastly ... over .. predict their crowdsQuolls2019 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 7:33 pmIf it happens consistently and over a long period of time it is not an anomaly.
