1st game shown at 2:20pm
2nd game shown at 3:20pm

A few reasons:

- all 3 AFL games overlap which splits the ratings hence foxtel is well below 200k
- there are 9 hours of AFL compared to only 2hrs of NRL. People are far more likely to tune in to a few hours than 9

Pal, are we going to be in the goldfish bowl all season with this? It's been done, argued, debated, cut, sliced and diced over and over and over and over again.

Bottom line: AFL have some games clashing. This no doubt effects ratings-downward. They also have FTA into all home markets. This no doubt effects ratings-upward.

NRL has only 3 games per week on FTA. This no doubt effects ratings-downward compared to AFL. They also only get ratings for 15.5 teams compared to 18 due to one team being in NZ-downward.

AFL win most Friday's head to head. Great. NRL has 3 levels of competition - domestic, SOO & international. SOO get massive ratings-upward. Internationals rate more than the AFL,s best games-upward.

Both games have their strengths and weaknesses in scheduling and overall viewership of the varying levels of each game.

Bottom line: Last year RL smashed AFL. This year AFL is tracking a bit better and RL a bit worse. It will be closer but I suspect RL will win again. All levels of the game that is. With an even amount of games counted.

Hope that helps. No doubt the remaining 2 fumbleball nutters will beg to differ. Dills!!
Yeah, I beg to differ. As I've shown in the last few pages the AFL have no real advantage on FTA because Melbourne and Sydney effectively get the same number of FTA games a year. Perth get 8 more but only a small proportion are in prime time and the majority are on 7mate.

Yes we target home markets, but this applies to Perth and Adelaide only, and is primarily because we have more home markets in Australia and more teams in each of those cities than the NRL. The NRL can target our equivalent of the dockers, eagles, crows and power in a single game, which they do most weeks.

And you claim the number of games is equal which is completely misleading. SHowing games concurrently effectively rates as one game, so the number of games is far from equal
You don't seem to get it pal, basically I don't care about your BS excuses, whingeing and whining. The AFL does their best. They've got what they've got. The numbers are the numbers. I don't know how many times I gotta say this - if you don't like it lobby fumblehouse to change. Until they do cop it sweet like a grown up please!!!

I suspect we'll be straight back into the goldfish bowl once again with this base level idiocy.

The 6pm NRL game was exclusive to fox and not shown against another game.

GC into QLD isnt going to rate higher than any other AFL game in QLD.

2/3 of people can watch just 1 match in the AFL or NRL.

By showing the home team into every state on FTA it more than that makes up for any overlapping. Its also pretty clear most of these matches are just the left over games. the likes of the Bulldogs, North's, freemantle ratings would have decreased not risen as people tuned out to watch the news. Or something of interest like there grass grow).

And there was a second NRL game it got 280k

A long year of watching Nlol pick you guys apart, leaving you to resort to this type of response?

Could be interesting.
Never realised quite how much hate there was for AFL from our Northern friends.

How many times does it need to explained to you? The heartland markets which see their side on FTA are perth and adelaide, not melbourne.

Did docker fans get to see their club play on fta? Yes. Did broncos fans get to see their club on fta? Yes.

Both codes have this advantage. The AFL need more games to do it though.
Yes the AFL show adelaide clubs and perth clubs into their respective cities more often than broncos into brisbane, but that doesnt cover the loss they get from concurrent scheduling, not be a long shot

It has nothing to do with left over games. Melb v ess was probably the worst matchul of the round and got well over 1mil viewers

This has got to be the most boring, tedious, goldfish bowl lapping of all time. We all know what the arguments are pal!!!!! Telling us over and over again day after day won't achieve anything.

Both codes have pluses and minuses in their scheduling. What you have is opinions as to the respective effects. They are biased. They are not fact. You do not know exactly what the effect is for each code. Get it pal? You have an opinion!!!!!

Now get over it and stop lapping the bowl pal. You're as boring as bat shit!!!!

Just like Pussy's opinion that targeted games negate the negative effect of concurrent scheduling entirely.

If you cant handle the debate Terry kindly fuck off and leave it those who can.

i seem to come to the assumption..

that the AFL do this type of scheduling for a reason.
it benefits them and the Networks.

taking in sunday for example>> if the AFL wanted no overlaps in games..
it was well very easily to do so..

instead of >>>>>>> it could of been>>>>>>
GAME 1 > 2:20pm >>>>> 1:00pm
GAME 2 > 3:20pm >>>>> 3:20pm
GAME 3 > 5:20pm >>>>> 5:50pm

but they AFL do not change this..
