Good break down of numbers. Good to see registered club players and growth in clubs and teams as easily verifiable. Good growth for Australian Rules Football.

Thanks Fred, they are very encouraging numbers.
There's a similarity between this growth and the RLWC crowd drop off.......
You don't see it.........
They were both expected.
Slow deaths are always a bit awkward.

Re: Numbers up in QLD
That was a cheap shot.
Seriously though.
It would be interesting to see a heat map of the growth.
Do you think there's one available?
It could be time for another team in Qld. Or shift the Gold coast. Bloody grave yard for sports teams.

Definetely you have spots that Australian rules is getting more of a foothold. The Gold Coast has a very strong junior and se it competetion and there are programmes in a lot of schools. Brisbane too but to a slightly lesser extent. Then you have cairns, port Douglas areas as well as Mackay etc that have string Australian rules competitions and growing. Thing is once you get kids playing in these areas they grow up with less of a bias toward the game ... are likely to watch when older etc due to the exposure. I think remote rural qld is one area where Australian Rules is still trying to find a niche however there are still leagues in most of these areas.
