Is the afls new “competition” committee as lopsided as the competition itself?

Post by King-Eliagh »

 YES!! YEs it fukkin well is :(/ :\: :(/

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/04/13/ ... committee/
Respected football journalist Mike Sheahan has provided a savage assessment of the AFL’s new competition committee, calling it lopsided and thoughtless.
First of all it’s difficult to see what on earth this committee will actually do but they’ve supposedly been formed to discuss the”overall progress of the game”

Check out their first agenda below and please, feel free to imagine the wonderful discussions they must’ve had
Item 1: AFL Competition Committee overview (Terms of reference, charter for the game)

Item 2: The Game (Evolution of the game, 2018 trends)

Item 3: Player Movement (NFL Draft report, Trade / Draft processes)

Item 4: The Competition (AFLX, AFL Calendar)

And oh yeah one more thing, the afl comp committee looks like a committee straight out of 1950s Australia (no surprises there !) lopsided to frickin billio!!!

I love how aflx got a spot on the agenda!

i wonder whether they talked about afl in China? Or the one white parent rule?

Perhaps we at talking footy could collectively draft a few agenda points for their next meeting?

Steven May to leave room for item 9 due to conflict of interest.

Item 9 - cultural awareness training for those who've been racist.... can it be shortened from two days to two hours? Committee member Eddie mcchins to lead discussion.

The scariest thing is the Friday night game was actually one of the closest games of the weekend & the margin was still 30 odd points.

Way too many blowouts for my liking last round, Im getting a bit over it

You've got plenty of mates pal!! The tv viewers are leaving in droves each game. I suspect behind closed doors Gilligan and the crew are in the foetal position. I'd say that in the off season there will a raft of changes made to the fabric of the game to try and save it. Watch this space!!!
