Claiming breaks show a player is not athletic is idiotic because it ignores intensity during game time
If some one can only run for 10min before having to put his hand up for a spell, than its idiotic to compare them to a person who runs 10km. Making 40 tackles along the way and experiencing about 70 collisions with a grater G-forces than astronauts experience. with just a 10min break midway through.
good point>

Rugby league tests the body in multiple ways

fitness, stamina, strength, mental, physcially, skill.
According to Dr Nathan Gibbs, the former Roosters and Rabbitohs top-grade forward ''Physically, AFL is a two-hour running game where two things happen,'' says Gibbs. ''Firstly, the total distance you run is further than in an NRL game. Secondly, you run at a higher intensity during the game. AFL is a man-on-man game. You have to go with your opponent. In rugby league, there are lots of times you can have a rest. You can sit in the defensive line where the ball isn't. The Storm are encouraging Inglis to run two kilometres a game. In AFL, he must run 14km."

According to K Hunt "I would say [AFL i]s tougher than rugby league where you can be outside the play having a rest.

Again, according to K Hunt "The AFL was a fantastic challenge for me. It was the hardest challenge going around and I am happy I went for it."

This is why the differences in interchange between AFL and NRL are irrelevant. RL allows regular resting periods and far less running, both in intensity and distance. Basically they dont need interchanges

Nope
You posted some quotes from people on the afl payroll .
Trying to back up your point of view .

Lol
You are too far into the cult to have any objectivity when it comes to your sport .

You've asked questions on here & when an answer is given( that doesn't fit the afl agenda ) you ignore it & move onto the next load of shit.
Such as quotes from employees of afl clubs .

actually, one of Hunt's quotes was AFTER he had left the AFL, so cash for comment would not apply.

Get another excuse

there is a lot of walking or slow paced jogging in RL, which is backed up by GPS data

There's walking in afl at every ball up, ball in, free kick, mark, goal, behind. And there's shitloads, just shitloads of each of these events in each game of afl.

The afl players also 'walk' off the field for their resty me leggys time for quarter, half and three quarter time... as opposed to just half time in NRL.

In sum, There's heaps more walky time for afl players than NRL players

I flicked over to watch a bit of the storm just then and kept my eye on Cameron Smith. He basically walks or jogs the entire game. He very rarely runs any decent distance. This got me thinking, how much distance are these "athletes covering in a game"?

Well here are the stats from SOO 2018:
Cleary's 7781 metres was the most distance travelled of any player in Origin I with a corresponding match intensity rating of 96.0. Angus Crichton was second on the intensity readings with 94.1, covering 4960 metres in his 50 minutes on field.

James Maloney (7543 metres) and Tom Trbojevic (7132) both managed an average intensity of 93.7.

Blues skipper Boyd Cordner (7639 metres at 91.0 intensity) and Maroons second-rower Gav Cooper (7620 metres at 92.1) were second and third respectively for most metres in their 80-minute back-row stints.

As far as AFL goes here are some stats from this year http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-04-20/i ... on-running:
4 Alex Neal-Bullen 17.2
3 Andrew Gaff 17.1
1 Mark Blicavs 17.0
2 Tom Phillips 16.9
2 Lachie Whitfield 16.7

17kms to 7kms. One NRL player not even making 5kms in a game

Oh dear .
How many tackles ..lol if you can call them that in abortionball do players make .

Cam smith makes 30-50 a game usually front on against a 110 kg bloke running straight at him .

I'd say a fumbler would make 2 like that before he woke up in icu.

One sport is basically long distance running
One is a collision sport ...brutal .

just laughing at the suggestion 7k is a decent distance to cover

As for long-distance running, yes, it is a long way, especially when much of the distance is sprinting
