The rugby league sides in American cities are totally irrelevant, the real interest is in Australian rules football with clubs such as the NY magpies creating some interest.

Test match between NZ and England to be played in US this year. And likely to be an nrl club game the year after that. Wow.
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg has revealed the game is edging towards a historic deal with broadcast partners that will result in the 2019 premiership opener being played on a stand-alone weekend — dubbed round zero — in North America.
The NRL has been locked in talks with Fox Sports and the Nine Network for more than a year over the prospect of a game for premiership points on foreign soil, either on the west coast of the US or in Canada.
Time was their enemy last year, but NRL officials believe they are close to securing a deal for the start of 2019, with South Sydney almost certain to be one of the clubs involved.
