After just a handful of games with a few mates for Victorian Amateur Football Association club Old Haileyburians in 2015, he found his way on the Eastern Ranges list after impressing with his ability to cover the ground....
In the past two weeks he has been shifted forward and booted 10 goals for Hailebury College in the APS competition...
AFL clubs still have him very much in the mix

Just get a look at the newest hot draft prospect!

Image

All the papers are a buzz about him! (pissoff buzz )

Common now afl fans just face reality, if ur fit thinly built and can run long distances ur a shoe in for the afl draft. It's clear the afl recruiters can easily say "No experience necessary".

the kid was ranked in the top 10 junior tennis players in Australia yet chose aussie rules. If he's good enough he will be drafted, if not I suppose it's back to tennis. How you spin this as a bad thing is beyond me

Nlol, I'll put it plain and simple for you.

There's no other pro sport I can think of that appears so easy to get into than it is to get into the top echelons of competition than the afl. And it def doesn't happen in any of the other footy codes in Australia.

It's happened countless times now where absolute afl nobody's have trained for 6-24 months, bypassed the many tiered representative footy system and then made it into waltz into the top echelons of the sports.

It's a bad thing nlol, trust me bro

again, he isnt in yet, he's entering the draft. He has played 5 years of junior AFL. He is clearly a talented athlete.

It's a great thing the AFL is being considered as a sporting option by other elite athletes.

It don't matter if he ain't in. He's already succeeded massively, after, and I quote "just a handful of games with mates"

It's too easy to succeed in the afl. Actual Skills appear less important than endurance running.

This is just how it is nlol, ok I'll back pedal a bit for - it's an ok thing but it definitely ain't good!

someone who can make top 10 junior in a popular sport in Australia clearly has great athletic ability. No doubt playing 2 years in the highest junior level football added greatly to his development. He was also assessed early in the year as having elite speed and endurance for his age. Add skills and an ability to read the play and he becomes an option to draft. If he makes it is another question.

Good on him for choosing Australia's greatest sport over tennis :thumbleft:

Why is AFL always so desperate to get players of other codes to play their game.
Really shows they are struggling with legitimacy as a credible sport.

Lawn bowls is a "popular Australian sport" nlol

It's just that someone who played tennis and then a few Aussie rules games with Mates before making it into the as you say "highest junior level football" shows it's not hard to make it into the top echelons of the game. The skills are clearly not high level technical code specific skills. Even fitness levels like strength, power and agility don't seem to need to be too high level. You just need general fitness and high level endurance and, well, you're in!!

Im not saying the game is crap, I actually played and watch the code fairly often. I'm just telling it like it is nlol, just admit it. :)

he's 193cm with elite speed and endurance. He is playing juniors for the eastern rangers, which only a handful of junior players achieve. He clearly has talent and the correct physical attributes.
