Perhaps a fair argument. Tho I could see him dominating in the neaflThe_Wookie wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 9:19 amBe way too old. No club would even give him a sideways glance at his age.
Should Anthony choc Mundine have a go at making the afl?

Re: Should Anthony choc Mundine have a go at making the afl?
And thanks gents, I can't believe I didn't think of the massive racism Mundine would cop if he went anywhere near an afl field.
He'd cop it for being born Aboriginal. Then he'd cop abuse for being Muslim too. I have to agree, I don't think choc could actually stand for the racist abuse he would inevitably cop as an agl player.
Terry also has a fair point. The fumble is a unique skill that choc wouldn't be accustomed to.
But all in all I still think he'd easily dominate if he joined up in say the neafl. Much like izzy did. It's kinda too easy for the NRL boys.

No wookie now ur getting a bit far fetched. We all know the afl has a serious racism issue, far worse than is reflected in general Australian society. So Mundine would just cop the boos, the apes and the banana treatment whether he opened his mouth or not.

With his cognitive ability even rugby league would be a stretch.

He can't play the game: full stop!King-Eliagh wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2017 9:37 pmI reckon he should definitely have a go at it. He's not strong or powerful enough to cope with rugby league anymore but his sublime sporting skills and endurance would put him a notch above most of the top players in the wafl or the vfl. Also we know afl players can keep playing at the top level into their 40s. It's a slower less physically demanding sport than rugby league.
I think at the very worst he'd be able to compete in the neafl as a wing or halfback flank or half forward flank. He'd be handy in the pocket or as a rover too, a real potential utility player.
What do others think?
