I think he was just throwing a round abouts figure out there aflcrap. Did he literally say round abouts... no. Is that what was likely meant yes. It's a context thing which I know some have difficulty with and you've been quite good lately and definitely improved ... and yes when you questioned it he should have realised you missed that subtle context and explained better... which I think is what he was trying to do when he said average .... to clarify and be more specific. It's a nuance thing with language ... not one that is overtly taught but something we do learn like so many other social mores. Gets further complicated by text and email where they are often written more quickly than say a letter and often that context is hard to convey and often misconstrued.

Swans still get bloody good crowds considering form and in nrl heartland and where there is a culture of not going to events.

His point was the NRL crowd wasnt that great given the swans get far better crowds in Sydney every home game. YES he should have said average crowd, not every game, but the point still remains perfectly reasonable!

I will answer your question.. regards to why Adelaide bettered syd crowd

1. it was a one off game.. (be interesting to see an Adelaide team) in this day and age..
2. traffic in Sydney..
3. Sydney teams are really spread out over the Sydney Metro basin
4. Rugby league In Sydney for a home game is usually 90-10 in home support.
away fans do not tend to travel.. therefore crowds do not increase.

unless it is Good Friday Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Finals..

I pretty much have nothing else in regards to why Sydney crowds are so bad
in (ALL SPORTS)
