Roosters get over 21,000 in Adelaide!!
We have heard so many AFL fans say nobody would ever turn up to a NRL match in Adelaide.
Yet some how they just got over 21,000 there between the Roosters & Storm.
More than the Giants usually get for home matches in Sydney.
Furthers proof that a Rugby League team could work in both Perth and Adelaide one day.

18,000 were locals. So even that is a good crowd for a NRL match in AFL heartland.The_Wookie wrote: βSun Jun 25, 2017 9:30 amAnd before you try to tell me that 21,000 Adelaidians went to the game, there were thousands of folks from Melbourne and Sydney here too.
And as if AFL fans don't travel to make up the Giants crowd numbers at games in Sydney.

Pissed off that the storm lose a game because their 3 best players are out .... which for to me ... no good reason. They should play origin at the end of the season.

Regardless ... a one off event in a city you'd think it would pique the locals interest.
Just look at grassroots in Adelaide ... how's that looking wookie ?

Keep talking out of your arse Wook. I suppose you checked all the hotels to see if they were booked out lol??The_Wookie wrote: βSun Jun 25, 2017 10:18 amBullshit 18,000 were locals. Excuses excuses. Your like a child bro.
Yep wooks is right and the media is wrong.
And even if they were booked out like you think. Hawthorn played in Adelaide too on the weekend, so they could have been alot of people from that match booking hotels.
Just because the AFL China match was a laughing stock, now your all angry

Re: Roosters get 21,000 in Adelaide!!
There wouldn't of been thousands from Sydney. Melbourne yes. ,as more and more start to see the light. Gilligan would of claimed that as a sell out. 18 000 in North Qld, 16 000 in Canberra and 21 000 in Adelaide Wow , popular all over the country not just South of the Murray Wow. And Rugby league tracking for 6m viewers this week. My daughter has started playing Union for Brighton oddly enough. Im going to look into it, see if i can get an interview with both the SARL and SARU.
Way to go Fred

Wooks Rugby League is run by more than one organization unlike the AFL.
That is like saying you have to keep the A League seperate from anything else soccer.

Re: Roosters get 21,000 in Adelaide!!
The article stated 18,000 were locals. It a also said the Roosters were working with the SA tourism industry and SA govt. I suspect the numbers were verified by those bodies.The_Wookie wrote: βSun Jun 25, 2017 10:18 amBullshit 18,000 were locals. How do you know it's BS? Answer: You don't - once again your bias has overtaken reality and you just make stuff up.

huge crowd for NRL. Clearly there are more fans living in Adelaide than western Sydney. The NRL would be crazy not to put a team into Adelaide pronto

I think it goes to show what it is like to live in one of the desert state capitals. The isolation and loneliness of living in what is essentially a big country town in the middle of a desert must be palpable....lololololololol. The poor devils will go anywhere and watch anything to get their minds off their miserable existence.

Little Adelaide is way down the pecking order pal. We've got far better options queuing up to get in. Plus you couldn't really ask young blokes to live in a desert state could ya??

People who live there are people too you know. I'd much rather live there than Townsville, Gold coast, Canberra or Newcastle. Have you even been to Adelaide and Perth?
