Even mid season is a poor idea. What do your non origin players do? The season would lose momentum too

there is already 2 byes mid season in the NRL Schedule

an Origin Series mid year would take around 3 weeks..

it would be extra week. to regroup repair and fire again

Origin is just fine the way it is. It's the envy of all the other sporting codes. If its not broke don't fix it.

SOO isnt broke, your season is broken because of the way SOO effects it. If you're happy to have multiple meaningless games without your best players in the middle of the year that's your prerogative. However, I'd be furious if my team missed finals because they lost mid season games due to key players missing games

Yes would have to agree. People will tune into events ... and soo Is indeed one of those that people across the country like to watch ... but tomorrow and Friday outside of qld and nsw no one will be taling about the result.

our FTA ratings are up 14% while yours are down 25% in your heartland Sydney. I think the NRL need to consider increasing interest, not the AFL

You get my point though. It would be like comparing a grand final to a home and away match then?
How often is a grand final played 3 times in a row?

Would you discount the Socceroos too as a team because they are made up of A league players?

Silly comparison fred. They are legit sporting teams NSW and Qld.

Yeah 3 matches about as popular as AFLs grand final. Pretty good effort hey.

I don't get this point (that SOO IS AN EVENT because it pulls massive Figures...

does that not mean that the AFL GRAND FINAL is an event...

because it eclipses AFL figures by x 3.5 of the average FTA AFL game each week..

its the same thing... THE AFL GRAND FINAL is watched because it is the biggest match of the year..

Just like the NRL GRAND FINAL (they just happen to have 3 SOO games that are hugely popular

Bullshit
Just because your sport has no rep scene doesn't mean we discount our rep teams .
The whole afl superiority bullshit is viewed through a narrow domestic prism .
Here's some news .
Many many sports have rep teams .
Most of Those rep teams are popular .
But because your sport hasn't got one then other sports rep teams don't count .

Lol typical fumbler insular thinking.
Our GF drew a bigger crowd and Tv audience than your 'most popular' SOO teams. :afro:

But like everything on this forum, whenever the RL fans feel beaten they pull out the SOO card. It's basically their only play
This pretty much wraps up this thread
