So what about Sydney swans? Hmmmmm why do Sydneysiders flock to the game?

And Gold Coast .. an nrl heartland still get near on the same as the local team.

Brisbane does okay too considering rl heartland.

And what is the actual average for the nrl so far this year?

afl remains the biggest sporting organisation in this country by a country mile ... there's a reason for that .
We are talking international footy and Fred brings up the Sydney Swans :(/ Are they an international footy team now are they?

The Australian Kangaroos will face Fiji and Papua New Guinea in an historic tri-contest in Suva ahead of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
The innovative format of the match will see all three teams face each other on October 14, at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
Fiji will face PNG before Australia takes on both PNG and finally Fiji. All three match-ups will last 40 minutes.
It will be the Kangaroos' first match in Fiji.

AN AFL oval launched in China with much fanfare and a $1.5 million investment has been sitting unused with a power pole in the field of play.

Melbourne City Council Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and two other councillors opened the oval in 2011, during an $18,000 ratepayer-funded trip to China, but since the launch the ground has sat idle.

At the time, the council said the oval was the result of a five-year collaboration between the City of Melbourne, AFL and Melbourne Football Club.

The council even enlisted Melbourne architect firm Thomson Perrett to design and deliver the oval.

In 2011, Melbourne Football Club chief executive Cameron Schwab said the club was excited about supporting a team in the Tianjin region β€” to be called the Demons.

Since then the growth of the game in the region has stalled β€” with the Tianjin Demons failing to be formalised.

AFL fans just try to ignore it because they know their game will never have the international appeal of all the other football codes.

Yes... this is true . We accept that it will just be Australia's game. Others may take a passing interest but it will always be our game, something uniquely Australian.

"All 3 matches will last 40min"??? Well that's different. Don't really see the point in that. Why not just have a proper game??
