Why Polynesians don't like AFL

1. he was paid to promote the game. Not sure saying it's difficult is promoting it. If anything you'd want to say it's wasy so it appeals to more people
2. Again it's pure assumption on your part to say his comments were based on income
3. Even if he was paid to say it, that doesnt mean it wasnt his honest opinion anyway
4. He made these comments recently yet retired in 2014. Are you saying the AFL are still paying him?

What you've got to realise is AFL poached and payed him big dollars. It really made AFL look pretty desperate actually. Paying NRL players a fortune who had no interest in AFL prior to contact offers.

Is'nt it funny how the NRL or Union has never found the need to poach AFL players for first grade.
No AFL player has ever made first grade Rugby League and no AFL player probably ever will.

If they could pay enough they would. A top grade afl player would get paid more. If they could pay overs for an afl player to make it worth their while then you would get as such.

No AFL players just are'nt built to play league. Would be like trying to get a netball player to play rugby.

And why waste money on an AFL player when you could get someone from Union who would be way better.

I think an afl player would have to bulk up indeed which is not hard ... and would depend on position as well. Just as hunt and falou had to trim down and increase aerobic capacity. But you are correct .., be easier to get someone from union as game is similar.

On one hand they were saying they were giving the smaller white kids a chance to play at another sport instead of getting smashed by much bigger poly kids .
Then they get a poly to try to attract the poly community to fumbles .

they get a QLD SOO player to promote fumbles in west Syd .
Anyone with an IQ above .5 knew that it wasn't just dumb ....it had gone way past that

It was a giant fuck up from day 1

The exposure was'nt good exposure though.

Any code that puts so much time money and investment in a player and then for them to quit early is pretty embarrassing.

just saying this as someone made a comment about body types possibly making people from certain backgrounds exclusively associated to only 1 sport...just isn't true.

of course if you're generalizing all polys being 6 foot 4, 120 kg bouncer like tanks then that might be the case...but not every polynesian is built like that

well 10% are indigenous Australian, plus from number of from other Fiji, Sudan,Asia, Middle east etc.

I'm not sure how good your maths is but that would seem to add up to more than 100%

Of course the game is mainly Caucasian, that's what Australia is primarily made up of

AFL has even postponed it's indigenous all stars match till 2019. I am guessing due to lack of good players.
