Keep ignoring the facts Fred .
I've posted where they've been caught out bullshitting...
When asked did you read it you said ...couldn't be bothered .
Yet you are still commenting on the topic .
You're putting your faith in a journo who works for a media company who has a history of bullshit .
Lol .
A story that has no source ..no proof ..no backup from any one ..just one journo talking crap .
Yet when asked to check out their history of factual stories
you won't look at any negative stories about them .
You're a joke Fred .
You're on a DONALD deflection chant to deflect from your not wanting to see what I've posted .

You are the one ignoring the facts. I think every paper in the country has been sued... it happens. I don’t see the nrl jumping up and down about it... even when asked they were cryptic. I suspect, as I said, that they have counted ground staff media etc. hence the difference.

As I said ... why don’t you email the journalist. Until you can disprove what was reported you’ll need to accept it.

If this was on the afl you’d be all over it and no claims of fake news. Nice try Donald.

Fuck off stalker with your Donald crap .
You've joined the afl on endless loop club
An allegation isn't true until proof is produced .
Why would I email a bullshitter .
When you have something to back up the allegation ...say a stadium boss .
A govt sports official .
A club admitting it's true then it's nothing but an allegation .

You like to pretend how clever you are on here .
You're showing how dumb you are believing a journo

& as I've posted but as usual you ignore
When it's a afl article from this mob I usually say ..IF ITS TRUE ..
Which shows that you are full of shit .

The National Rugby League's new $120 million digital business will not cannibalise the audiences of existing media organisations, the NRL's digital boss insists.

NRL Digital, encompassing a new central news website, and sites and apps across the competition's 16 teams, went live on Tuesday afternoon, in a sweeping change designed for rugby league to take control of and better commercialise its online assets.

The NRL says its digital business is designed to make it easier for fans to buy memberships, tickets and merchandise, and for its clubs to better market themselves to existing and prospective fans.

Rebekah Horne, the NRL's chief digital officer, played down concerns from News Corporation about having to compete with the league's news service, saying: "We have excellent partnerships with our existing rights holders in Fox Sports, Telstra and Nine [Entertainment Co.] and there will be a promotion of their coverage. But we think this will also help with our direct engagement with our fans."

The NRL has taken control of its digital assets from Telstra under the terms of its $1 billion broadcast deal signed two years ago. Telstra still retains streaming rights and has built a new NRL app in conjunction with the league. The NRL and Telstra will also share some commercial income, although Ms Horne would not reveal the split.

NRL.com will feature respected journalists such as former Fairfax Media reporters Brad Walter and Michael Chammas, but Ms Horne said the venture would focus on providing better content to customers and, in particular, having extensive data-mining capabilities that would allow the NRL and its clubs to better understand and service its fans.

'Meaningful relationships'

"Digital is important for everything that we do across the entire business," Ms Horne said. "The success of this venture will be measured if we can create more meaningful relationships with our fans and engage with them more closely ... giving them content they want that is tailored for them."

That will include more news, both on the central NRL website and app and sites across the club's digital assets, with a particular focus on video content.

But Ms Horne said the digital business, which has about 75 employees, was also designed to make it easier for fans to buy memberships, tickets and merchandise, and for its clubs to better market themselves to existing and prospective fans, with visitors to the sites and apps required to register. "The key is to increase the awareness of and the engagement in the sport."

The league has already signed Holden, insurer Youi, Harvey Norman and Telstra as digital sponsors, although Ms Horne said the NRL still had some digital packages to sell.

Clubs would be able to mine data to sell memberships and tickets to fans, and each will pay the NRL $178,000 to buy back their digital advertising space to then on-sell.

Macquarie Media has concluded a new five-year radio broadcast agreement with the Australian Rugby League Commission for the coverage of NRL games in the 2018-2022 seasons.
Under the new agreement Macquarie Media will broadcast more games than in previous seasons into the Sydney and Brisbane markets via 2GB and 4BC respectively, and it will also broadcast games on its Talking Lifestyle stations in both cities.
Confirming the new rights agreement, Macquarie Media executive chairman Russell Tate said he was very pleased that Macquarie’s long association with Rugby League would continue.
“Ray Hadley’s Continuous Call Team is the game’s most successful and longest-running commentary team in the code,” Tate said. “It has dominated ratings and established loyal audiences in Sydney on 2GB, in Brisbane on 4BC, throughout regional New South Wales and Queensland, and in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Our audiences love the passion, enthusiasm and professionalism the team brings to the coverage of rugby league and we are looking to take that to a new level under this agreement.”
Macquarie’s rights under the agreement will continue to extend into other capital city markets, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, and regional markets in NSW and Queensland. “We look forward to working with the NRL to extend its footprint in other capital cities and have already confirmed broadcast partners in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea,” said Tate.
With respect to regional markets in NSW and Queensland, Tate said he was pleased to announce that, as part of the new agreement, Macquarie Media would sub-license rights to service these markets to Crocmedia, Australia’s biggest radio sports syndicator.
“Crocmedia has well established relationships in these markets,” he said. “It will have rights to syndicate Continuous Call Team broadcasts into regional markets and will also produce its own NRL Nation calls of up to four games not being called by the Continuous Call Team. Regional networks and stations will therefore have access to every NRL game played every week and the combined effect of a broader regional station base and access to more NRL games will significantly expand the game’s radio reach.”
Crocmedia CEO Craig Hutchison said the NRL sub-licence partnership with Macquarie Media and the ARLC represented a key asset in the company’s whole-of-sport expansion strategy.
“We are thrilled to add a broadcast partnership with Macquarie Media and the NRL as the latest addition to our growing stable of sport properties with an incredible ensemble of on-air talent,” Hutchison said.
NRL Nation will call four matches each round: Thursday (8pm), Friday (6pm), Saturday (3pm) and Sunday (4pm), across the Super Radio Network throughout regional NSW and Southeast Queensland, the Grant Broadcasters in regional NSW and regional Queensland, Resonate Regional Radio and Coastal Broadcasters in Queensland, Capital Radio Network in Canberra, CAAMA Network (Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association) through Central Australia and QRAM (Queensland Remote Aboriginal Media) throughout Remote Queensland.
NRL Nation officially launches on Thursday March 8 and can be heard across radio broadcast partners, NRL app, NRLNation.com.au and NRL.com.au.
