This will be an interesting experiment. People have been saying for decades that North America is ripe for RL to take off but nothing substantial has happened. I'm not sure what the aim of the bloke financing this is as it sure won't be a money making exercise but if it takes off it could be the start of something big for RL.

What they need to do is get more actually Canadians in the squad, hard for people to support a team with only 2 Canadians in the entire squad.

Not really, just a be excuse from a Vichy fan in fear.

Out of all of Toronto's teams, you would be lucky to find more than 20 locals across all their teams in the one season.

Completely different mentality to Australia.

As long as they are competitive, the locals won't care. It's about the third largest city in north america, probably more blowins live there than dead set locals anyway.

Yeah is very early days. If the team is a success I am sure there will be more Canadians in the team in future years.

No mention of the USA and Jamaican players given an opportunity?

There's more to this team than Toronto.

3 new nations to the sport opening up opportunities for a whole new avenue for talent at the pro level, add to that the newer central and south American comps forming, I see no reason why rl can't carve out its own niche.

Union boy doesn't like it, well too bad.

True they do seem to have a lot of support from the USARL too.
Rugby League is the most similar sport in the world to Grid Iron football. All it needs is promotion and I am certain Americans would prefer it to Union.

To be fair parra, I cant knock a organisation for giving it a go. like I said when props are due I will give them and the wolfpack deserves it, so all the best to them.

But RL being most similar to NFL? :-k . I guess the similarities are being able to pass the footy forward, stop start nature of the game, the time outs, the interchange between defence and offence, the game being played in quarters, the strategy in each play, the size of the field, the padding? yup that must be it! so so similar ](*,)

It could fail halfway through the first season or it could be a raging success. I have seen both in regards RL before so I will wait and watch.

Well tell me a code closer to Grid Iron than league?

Are the only two codes that restart a play when a tackle is completed.

That's correct pal. But it is preceded by 10 fumbles on average between clearances. Fumbleball - the ugliest professional sport in the world!!!!
