Well when including NZ And Digital Rights. They are pretty much on par to the exact.
when the NRL announced the Tv rights. it did not include these two Big Pies

You do also realize there is 18 teams to 16.

if we don't count NZ then it is 15 to 18.

your figures were for Australian TV revenue. Despite these figures the AFL still has the largest deal in Australia despite controlling their own schedule and showing AFL live into every market

WOW you totally ignored what I said..

then it is 15 teams against 18

I guess the NRL deal is better then.. with 3 teams less. and no teams in W.A or S.A

remember the AFL is Simcast on FOX as well. that would MAXIMISE the Deal.

Have you watched a Game of Rugby league before on FTA

there is lucky to be 3 adverts in a whole half of football. therefore generating Less Tv Ad Revenue..

the AFL will have 30 plus ads easy. therefore generating more.

THE NRL AND AFL when including NZ Are Pretty much Equal.

yes NRL DID let channel 9 control scheduling but this is a short term thing.

well actually given CH9 control you schedule and demand to play the broncos every FN the NRL should get more. But they dont.

As for 15 v 18 teams, its 8 v 9 games which matters. By all means introduce 2 more teams. Shame ch9 wont show them anyway

Things Will Change..

just think of the price tag a extra Qld Team Will Bring..
and a Perth team with the great time difference shown prime time in the eastern States.

I have. You are very spoilt with few if any ads. If that changes with more ads do you think it will result in less viewers like you delayed games?

Fact is the NRL has an advantage in advertising market, and the AFL has an advantage in more natural breaks and longer games. However, longer games mean all but the FN game are shown against another AFL game which reduces revenue. However the wash up is the AFL is of greater value in Australia on current deals

when? 2050? You think ch9 will show a Perth team on FTA with poor ratings? That's a great way to get a worse deal than your current one

Yes Not have many adverts in games Is Brilliant
But it also affects the Broadcaster, which David Gingel has said..
even if they could fit a 3- 5 more adverts a half it would be massive.. to the overall things.
The only way is if they brought in 1/4 and 3/4 time.

The Difference in the delayed games that channel 9 show.
Is on Friday night after the 1st game has already finished.
starting at 9:45pm and 3mins of adverts every 10mins
It is literally like watched a FTA Movie..

Yes Agree with that some AFL games Overlap on each other..
Strong Point Actually. This would affect yes.

2018 I would say.
Channel 9 if they did show, would show perth team on GEM
and The other team on Channel 9.

But I would think They would be more on Fox anyways.

SOO games and G.F Games Rate well in perth..
and were shown on GEM>

for the 9th game to add value you will need to find a time slot for it that will add value. Given just about every NRL game is shown in isolation when do you suppose a new time slot will be? Will this be an unpopular time slot for crowds or TV, adding little overall value? How would you show a Perth game on FN into Perth and Sydney given they are 2 hours apart? A game in Perth at 7pm wont start in Sydney until 9pm and finish at 11pm, killing ratings. A game in Sydney at 8pm will be shown into Perth at 6pm when viewers are coming home or watching the news, again killing ratings. The current NRL arrangement with teams all in the 1 timezone (excluding NZ) is a big plus, going outside this will be problematic

A Perth Game Shown Live in To Eastern States at 9:30pm will still get good ratings.
the reason it doesn't at the moment is because it is 2hours delayed and result is al ready known.
This can be done on Friday and Saturday nights.

there showing 2 live Games on Friday and the Saturday live game at 9:30pm
Which is Brilliant

It will be a Perth Hit in the crowds and the ratings for Friday Nights and good ratings off the back of live games in Eastern States.

They can also show Afternoon Games at 1pm in perth and Live at 3pm In Sydney on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday games Shown Live in perth 4:30pm Live in Sydney at 6:30pm sunday night.

PERTH Would be a huge asset.

extra Queensland team will just be Excellent bringing in more revenue as stated by Gyngell
Extra queensland team would ad an extra 100million He public Wants this and has stated this.
