These Docker legends remind me so much about the Port Adelaide where the COWS will never have our support and cheered when the lost last week!

WHILE the Swans enjoy the support of a whole state in Saturday's AFL grand final, hardcore Fremantle fans are ensuring that the Eagles will be flying solo.

Urgings from the blue-and-gold half of Perth for all West Australians to support the Eagles, no matter what their allegiance, have fallen on deaf ears.

In fact, Dockers fans, still smarting from their exit to Sydney in last weekend's preliminary final, have turned to the team which beat them in order to regain some joy from the season.

Shane Richmond, owner of the Dockerland website, today launched "International Eagles Suck Day'' on the site.

"Like prisoners of war, it's every Freo supporters' duty to make life as difficult as possible in the lead up to the grand final, so they divert their energy to fighting us off instead of worrying about the game on Saturday,'' Richmond wrote.

"Enjoy the day, get the kids involved and remember - if you don't tell them they suck, they'll never learn.''

Included in the "celebrations'' are Eagles Suck stickers, posters, and fridge magnets for Freo fans to download, as well as a song - "We Hate You'', sung by regular Dockerland contributor Megan Jordan.

Some of the lyrics include: "We hate the way you try to claim the whole west coast . . . we hate the way you act like you too cool to bother hating us.''

In a dig at the apocryphal elderly Eagles supporters who supposedly knit during games, Dockerland also provides a pattern for a piece of knitted Eagles Suck lingerie.

And for Freo fans attending Saturday's grand final, the website also provides a mask depicting the face of Leo Barry, the Swans defender whose dramatic mark secured the 2005 flag for Sydney.

Richmond said no self-respecting Freo fan could barrack for the Eagles, no matter what the game.
"It's understandable Eagles supporters would want the Freo supporters to get behind them for the grand final,'' Richmond said.

"It'd mean they had someone to explain the rules to them, someone to tell them the names of their players and someone to cheer for them while they clinked their chardonnay glasses.

"It's not going to happen though.

"We're not like them. We can't just hop on and off bandwagons at will, following the latest fads.

"When we make a commitment we stick with it through good and bad, be it supporting the Dockers, wearing the colour purple or hating the Eagles.''

In response, Daniel Williams, the Eagles' cheer squad member whose front-row face-off with Sydney's Michael O'Loughlin became one of the images of the finals, said he would not be supporting the Dockers if the position were reversed.

"Maybe we should rename it 'National Sore Losers' day,'' Williams said.
