When news broke of Iktimal Hage-Ali's (New South Wales - Young Australian of the Year) alleged links to drugs, the Daily Telegraph and News Ltd moved quickly to delete her blog on the news.com.au website:

Does anyone honestly believe the Daily Telegraph and News Ltd will end their relationship with Andrew Johns after he today admitted he has been using drugs throughout his entire career? Is it just me or is this double standards from News Ltd?

THE Andrew Johns drug scandal has forced some of his sponsors to put their relationships with the troubled star on hold.
Johns receives hundreds of thousands of dollars each year from a raft of sponsorships deals.
His two biggest employers - Channel 9 and News Limited, publisher of The Daily Telegraph - were last night waiting to talk with Johns before making a decision on whether to continue their relationships.
The Nine Network said it was disappointed in the reports and would seek to discuss them with Johns once he had explained his actions on The Footy Show, where he is a regular presenter.
"Nine will consider the situation, and have discussions with Andrew and his management over the next few days,'' Channel 9 said before The Footy Show went to air.
A News Limited spokesman said: "We will wait to get all of the details for a chance to talk to him before forming a view on what, if any, impact this has on his existing relationships with News Limited.'' |

Invade Joey's home
I trust that the Federal Government is so alarmed at the illicit drug use of Andrew Johns that it will immediately intervene and enter his Newcastle home declaring it a drug and alcohol-free zone, ensure any computers therein have a use policy and filters, compulsorily acquire title to his property and lease it back to him for five years, quarantine a percentage of his income to ensure money is being spent on utilities, food and clothing for his family, entitle police to enter the premises at any time and offer free regular medical check-ups for his son.
