People are holding out for the new team.
When it was announced that Tasmania would have it's own team, interest in the North and Hawthorn tassie games took a hit. And that's quite understandable.
Go Devils. !

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Fair crowd of 10000 at Giants stadium to witness a big win by GWS over Essendon.
They went out with a bang for the last home game, a treat for their fans.
Here is some Giant Stadium attendance figures for this year.
Not all bad.

Gordon Tallis needs to take his head out of the sand bucket and drive around the country, he might actually learn something.

Re: The AFL still remains the king of Australian sports
Australia rules is equivalent the baseball in the USA, participation and fan support all over the country. Rugby League is equivalent to ice hockey in the USA, reasonable participation numbers and fan support predominantly in the cold Northern states. Not a significant sport in the rest of the count...

Nice crowd on the weekend at the suns - I'd say a good 50-50 split which surprised me. Never heard a sun's crowd so vocal. 8-[     :(/ :(/ :(/ fumblers & their disgusting lies :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o is there no length they won't go to to misrepresent the truth ...

Re: Dimma to Gold Coast - Fight club addition
Great post Fred, you summed it up beautifully. Rugby Union certainly has fallen from prominence, Reds still draw a good crowd though. ( don't want to upset anyone but I prefer it to RL ) Overall the Sun's have had a good year, they have won a few and mostly remained competitive. Suprized at S Dews s...

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings (AFL vs NRL)
Looking back at the Giants vs Swans broadcast , the Sydney free to air figures look promising, it wasn't that many years ago that you would only get half those numbers. I'm calling the fta figure of 67000 promising, certainly stronger than years gone by. Finally we might be seeing some growth in the...

Re: What are your thoughts on the NRL game in Vegas next year?
A lot of AFL players have won contracts with NFL teams over the decades, some successful, some not. Mason Cox is an American playing AFL, who has played gridiron. Trouble for foreign sports trying to break into a new market is that the existing sports are so entrenched and loved by their citizens th...

Re: Battle of the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
Respectable attendance figures indeed.
Winning teams draw good crowds and in this match-up it was the Warriors that created the interest
Some might even suggest 20000 fly in fly out kiwis.
Warriors are the form side that spectators came to see.

Re: Battle of the Gold Coast - Suns vs Titans
That crowd of over 14000 was coming off two big defeats for the Sun's. Not many thought they would be competitive against the lions, but they beat them convincingly . Credit where credit is due please. When they string a few wins together, not scattered wins and loses, their crowds will significantl...

The woke thing has become a joke thing.
Better cover up the cheerleaders as they might offend someone.

Re: crowds for NRL V Klanball in Brisbane
I'm just trying to keep the debate going., fighting words and derogatory team nicknames aside we need to put some clarity and balance on the issue. The truth lies somewhere in the middle , Rugby League is doing very very well but Australian rules has much improved in Queensland and is a worthy secon...

Re: crowds for NRL V Klanball in Brisbane
The whole Dolphin thing is a lot of contrived bs hype that will deflate after a short time. Those early crowd figure are already in sharp decline. Dolphins vs Titans 18000. Shocking crowd figure for a local derby. Dolphins Parramatta 8000 Their certainly on the nose in Sydney. Most people around Aus...

Re: Vicderpia /Mongbourne embarrasses Australia
To bid for the games was a shameful political stunt and the Andrew's government has no credibility or respect amongst the average thinking person. He only got voted in due to green preferences. For me personally, losing the games doesn't matter however those that have trained hard in particular spor...
