Re: 2nd year AFLW: Will the hype continue?

What a corrupt compromised comp . AFL house telling coaches how the game will be played Seriously This does not happen in any other sport anywhere . Though I'm sure the fans will think that's normal .. They accept the compromising of the men's comp No one accepted the thousands of rule changes: the...

Re: 2nd year AFLW: Will the hype continue?

Great article by Richard Hinds. The Cinderella effect has gone up in smoke for the lady fumblers. They are now, and should be, treated like the rest of the sporting landscape. They are no longer a protected species. All the other ladies sports will be applauding reality setting in. http://www.abc.n...

Re: 2nd year AFLW: Will the hype continue?

I wouldnt expect the standard of play to be close to womans soccer or cricket because womans AFL has only just begun The national AFLW comp has just begun but the AFL boasts they have ladies comps all around Australia. Some figures are as high as 465,000 'players'. Now we all know that is not remot...

Re: 2nd year AFLW: Will the hype continue?

As the fumbling folk here have vacated the premises I thought I would do their job and start a thread about this years AFLW season. The big questions for the 2nd year are: what will the TV ratings be? What will the crowds be? What will the standard of play be? Will folk outside Melbourne and the de...

Re: Afl over 30 years

Did Murdoch call it the National R&%$#(s League? No, so stop blaming him for the facts of the matter: people don't trust rugby league or its players or its fans. That is why it has the crowds it has!! The fans don't want to be around each because they know they are all dodge central.... Murdoch...

Re: Afl over 30 years

I don't know what the article says about AFL expansion, and to be honest I don't really care. There expansion happened because it had to. According to the document they had commissioned they needed to expand or die. It wasn't some holier than thou ,trumpet blazing celebration. They were told they n...

May do well in participant numbers, but sure as hell don’t in tv viewer numbers in Australia. lol
Because, like the English, were all drunkards stuck in our ways!

Should we all give into the new feministic-fashion-dictate of the day?

Not even normal women do that!!

Re: Soccer continues to dominate

Soccer is a very high skilled sport: it will take time to get the raw numbers but as a non soccer fan I can well and truly say I am impressed by the level of skill in Australia, including the women and not just Daniel Kerr’s sister: infact, I think she was lucky to get that medal the other day!

Re: 2017 - Rugby League TV Ratings (Rolling totals in OP)

do you recan if the NRL introduced quarter and 3 quarter time>> ratings would decrease.? or would the TV Deal rise ? ratings would decrease due to a longer telecast it would only be a 15min extension >> with nothing but extra advertising breaks delivering a bigger $$ so there is the positive.. Re: 2017 - Rugby League TV Ratings (Rolling totals in OP)

well if it comes down to basic numbers I wouldn't be to surprised considering 100 is half of 150  Pussycat, what is 50% of 2 hours? 1 hour Therefore to go from 2 hours to 3 hours you need a 50% increase. To go from 75 minutes to 150 minutes you need a 100% increase. What level of education di...
